Cautious Guinea Pig
"I also put a couple of tblsp. apple cider vinegar in the water with the iodine, for the boron, which as you advised me previously would help bind the halogens."
Help me out here. Why would you put
Iodine a halogen in your water, and then add something that will bind it back up? I know you want to decrease other halogens like fluorine and chlorine, but won't the
Iodine get negated too if the stuff actually binds all halogens? I have used dechlorinator to remove fluoride and chlorine from my bath water, but had assumed that adding
Iodine and halogen remover together was just wasted money. Fortunately now I'm on well water, and not being medicated by the government. Now I don't use the dechlorinator and have added a little providone iodine to the bath at times, but not enough to notice any effects.
I had also heard that calcium combined with iodine to render it more inert. However I often put a drop of iodine in my coffee and am hard pressed to go without my cream also. Does the calcium in the milk or cream render the iodine less available? I also don't take my Vitamin C with my
Lugol's drop water to prevent the iodine from being immediately converted to iodide. Is all this concern necessary? Or will my body combine and de-combine the iodine as it sees fit and there is not much chance of getting the I2 all the way through my digestive tract without it combining with something? I'm not a chemist, but would like to know more about the bio-availability and utility of the iodine and
Iodide that I take, so that I get the best results and can reproduce them at will.
I don't want to get the full dose one day, while the next day my dose gets neutralized by something else I ate along with it. And then I wonder why my results seem to vary from day to day. I'd like to have a proper knowledge of how the iodine is digested and used and what does and doesn't effect its uptake and utilization. is there any comprehensive documentation about how best to assimilate the iodine and
Iodide into your body for best results?
