Hi, I have only just been diagnosed with candida after only a few months of symptoms. I am not sure what caused it, but am beginning to think it was bad diet. The first thing that happened to me was a gluten intolerance 6 months ago (I'm really not sure if this was before or after candida, but I think it was before) Anyway I used to eat fast food, drink alcohol etc all the time before and had to stop this because of gluten. When I stopped eating gluten I got 100% better, but I lost a lot of weight and started eating heaps of peanut butter, full fat dairy, avocados, pasta, coconut. My GI symptoms came back as well as fatigue, anxiety,
Depression and I kept gaining more
food intolerances . I was told just recently it is due to candida..
I am aware of many things that contribute to candida, like
Antibiotics , heavy metals, weakened immune system etc.. and it seems like you have to do a lot to get everything back from proper diet, building immune system, minimising stress, detoxifying the body, exercising and whatever. But the most difficult one to figure out is the diet... They say to starve the candida, but apparently this minimises symptoms and doesn't cure it. So how do you know what is supposed to work?? Do i really have to spend years trying different things to figure it out?
I am starting to think that what has caused my problem is my poor diet as well as a weakened immune system from my gluten intolerance which has made my liver not function properly and my nervous system and adrenals to go a bit off.. If this is the case is it better for me to do a diet minimizing fat and protein? Meat has caused me the most problems with digestion.. however I am very skinny and do not know if this approach is suitable for me...
I am not sure what to do and where to start, but if i start out wrong with this diet I know I am going to end up suffering for years as well and am so terrified...
