in my case while fasting ..the lymph bumps were excess protien deposits that went away as the excess protein left my system.some people are so overclogged with protien the lymph is full of rubbery hard or soft protien deposits. if these excess protien folks eat protien the lymph dumps the excess protien on skin as a pimple or growths, that's what lymphomas-bumps on/under skin are-this md at tennis is covered with lymphomas-protein lumps on his arms and legs- he said he's a big meat eater-turkey-and a breyers ice cream addict-he microwaves a big bowl of breyers ice cream daily- i believed him as it-the turkey and ice cream -were evident and made 100 lymphoma 1 inch lumps all over his arms and legs-many mds are stupid. skin tags, tumours, pimples etc on skin are excess protein carried out, pushed out skin by lymph.
most asians are slender
most americans are congested
i do not believe usa optimal weight charts are correct at all
to tell what is going on inside with people, thier diet for the last 7 years is what is going on inside them117, 5'10 is slender, depending on your bone structure, long fine bones, large heavy bones, small boned etc. I am 117, 5'6 with long thin fine bones that do not like to carry excess weight at all. I do not think about weight 'norms', i look at how i feel, my energy levels, my physical comfort levels in my own body, no aches or pains, good skin color tone texture, good hair and nail growth, clear eyes.
I read a longevity interview with a 107 year old healthy chinese man who gave his advice on longevity. The 107 year old man was very slender, he ate very light, 2 staple foods, his advice on long healthy life was:
' Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog. '
I am still trying to figure out how sit like a tortoise :)The interviewer had interviewed many healthy 100 to 120 plus year olds and noted they all had this in common:
Belief in God, spirit, personal relationship with God
Belief in immortality
They all wore rose colored glasses, had good optimistic perspectives.
I have to mentally prepare myself for water fasting. It is interesting to read your posts on water fasting. Thank you.
:-) very sage. enjoyed that. esp. the mental image of the sprightly walking. I see a red-legged bird, (knobby knees, like a person with loose tights) with a bit of a high step up front> but NOT military.
By contrast--too many people think (or even aspire) to sleep like a log!!! Dogs are relaxed, they have to take it as it comes, yet always micro-twitching, ready to wake--and since they have historically been kept to keep guard, that's good food for thought...
About the tortoise. If you get a chance to see them up close (sadly, I've seen them in a zoo, the ancient ones that look like sacred stones)you will note that they appear to live to "be not moved". I'm pretty sure this dictum refers to meditation, such that the wafting scent of a nearby food would have no effect; one is that released from the senses. For lots of us, the attempt to meditate is met with sleep--this is a sign that we are deeply deprived of true rest, and sorely in need of it. (And that includes rest from the enormous burdens that food puts on the system; largely because we are so ignorant about what and how much we really truly need.
You know, "man does not live by bread alone..." and all that.
One of the biggest "secrets" 'out there' imv, is this:
All the good, and happiness in the world comes from giving to others--all the unhappiness - and sickness, etc. etc.- comes from giving to oneself. )
Keep a quiet heart: that's priceless. Unperturbed by wanting anything one does not have, and NOT wanting something one does have. I think you have covered it.
Best, Chiron
I like this blogger, peter the pranarian. Whenever I fast, I find his blog insightful helpful and interesting to read
his latest blog entry is about his return to europe after a trip to india
his observations and insights on fasting are refreshing and funnyHi NH,
Congrats on your progress thus far... pretty smooth overall it seems :).
Regarding the swollen Lymph glands have you been doing anything to keep the lymphs moving? I always make a point of (and would recommend to anybody) doing a couple minutes of gentle trampolining 2 or more times throughout the day (as gentle as necessary, even if it means keeping your toes from leaving the canvass).
I too believe that fasting will ultimately help you to gain weight by enhancing your body's ability to assimilate nutrients. Funny thing fasting. It can help us to accomplish whatever we want including the ultimate gain or loss of weight.
All the best to you. Did i once read that you are intending to stop at 10 days? Seems you are drinking only to thirst and this thirst has been demanding about 2 liters per day on average? Hard to even imagine going dry for any period of time when this is the case but out of curiousity do you have any interest in the possibility of engaging in any dry segments? When i first became interested in this, i started out doing about 15-20 hours per day and then drinking to thirst (about 1.5 litre usually) in the remaining window. Overall i must say i believe it was a positive development : ).
Hi Sun Tzu
From what I have seen, only the pranarians dry fast. I study many of them that are public. Once you get to that level, it is a metaphysical practice, an inner spiritual subjective knowing, imo, it is no longer a group support issue, you either know what you are doing and you do it, or you don't know what your doing and you don't do it.
I dry fasted by accident many times, became so preoccupied with life I forgot to eat or drink, with zero ill effects, so i know it can be done.
To do it consciously, for me, involves more understanding.
