Well, I made it through yesterday. It is meningitis I'm going through, but I think the worst of it is over now. I was paralyzed in intense pain, had some more seizures, my mind went a few times, etc. But I'm doing much better so far, in that regard. No seizures today.
Anyways, it turns out I do have low stomach acid. Yesterday morning I ate some cucumber and almond with my meal, then did it with the next meal, but lately with any carbs (and proteins are starting to do this too), it feels like the rising blood
Sugar is battling with the insulin and it creates this tension and pressure in my head. Pretty uncomfortable.
So, for the remainder of the day, I just ate chicken, and drank the chicken broth. Was doing relatively decent as far as the blood
Sugar goes, but I was getting some pretty low dips in the numbers.
Towards the night I started getting gaggy with the chicken just like I would get with the beef. I felt full after eating like one or two little pieces, so I wouldn't really force it, and just trusted my body. Anyways, I started feeling nauseus and somewhat dizzy after awhile. Thought it was the meningitis, but at 9PM at mealtime, I ate a piece of chicken and REALLY started getting vomity. I tried resisting it, but no, I couldn't. So I threw up.
All the contents of my stomach came out. I saw salmon from two meals prior come out too. Everything looked pretty much like it did before I ate it. Undigested. In fact, my vomit didn't even smell like vomit. It smelled like chicken and salmon. Very bad.
So I checked my blood
Sugar and decided not to eat since the blood sugar number was good. I've noticed that at night my numbers have been maintaining themselves better lately. I didn't eat again until 1AM, about 4 hours later. I was dizzy, etc., checked my blood sugar and it was still in the same range, but I had to eat. Low calories and nutrients maybe.
This morning my blood sugar number was good, but I got all dizzy and weak, so I had to eat. Thinking of meat, any meat, still makes me gag, so at 9:30AM I ate just a little chicken and salmon without too much trouble, an almond, and a bigger chunk of cucumber than I ever have. Had that pressure headache thing, and now an hour and a half later I'm crashing. It's probably gonna be a rough day, but we'll see.
Gonna make sauerkraut to help out with the stomach acid issue, and I may get some HCL if I find out about a good one around here.
Does anyone react to HCL? Does it lower the blood sugar? Should work up the amount?
Now, I got some questions for Motif.
I saw your post to me about Magnesium.
I read this article (
http://www.newtreatments.org/hypo.php) about hypoglycemia and it said some interesting things about magnesium, so in addition to what you said, I'm convinced about taking it. I'm going to try to get some today.
Do you think I'd have a hypoglycemic reaction to it?
Would low stomach acid nullify any benefit from it?
Should I start out slowly and build up or just take the whole capsule/pill?
The article mentions that Magnesium-glycinate is the only form that increases intracellular magnesium activity. He also says that Carlson's brand is the only one he found that is worth it. Other companies, like Solgar or something, have calcium in it that antagonizes the magnesium. Is this true in your experience? What brand do you use?
Thanks in advance!
