MC, Vidda,
This is not the first time the forum has been inundated by a lot of talk mostly centred around and coming from a place of 'dropping pounds', as we see.

edit--by the way, I am speaking here to vidda's post about "lately" and NOT criticisng the poster here. But it's funny how often one gives some solif information and is then greeted with nothing but huffiness. What new people don't know, and what we all get worn out with explaining, after they post on what their modified fast will be, as a kind of announcemnt, more than anything else, is that if you mix the WF with something else, you are doing a form of intermittent fasting.
There's no problem with that, if it's genuine, (one day on, one day off can have good results),and it's been discussed here, you can find posts on it. But this plan of several days water, and then two meals, then water, then two meals...is a very strange form of taxation for the body--and could have negative results.
Also, we may be a bit jaded, but many of us have seen these first time posts announcing some plan that goes for weeks, and then never hearing from the person again, as to whether they were offended by their greeting, or just fell off the face of the earth. it would be nice maybe if the forum asked peopleto read the available posts first before their first post announcing a water fast. This is what a lot of forums do, whose focus is not 'messaging' so much as studying and practising.

(And Monte, it's so important for forum visitors and members to be able to read the experience of one such as you, who were obese, and yet were not myopically focussed on 'weight loss only', and who's really gained from the water fast, on all levels! The fact is, lots of us had weight to lose, but that must not be allowed to be the focus of THIS forum, and eclipse the "water only" *****therapeutic nature***** of what's going on, and being shared here. There's more to it all than weight loss.)
It's unfortunate, but that seems to be one way the
Water Fasting endeavor goes way off the track--and gets people into twittering about all kinds of 'methods' to do it quicker, or make it last,
or get "back on it",as if it were a diet. And all that sort of lose-weight speculation. Naturally, a person thinking this way has to appear to be 'against' (or a pioneer to) the traditional or established ways', otherwise their smokescreen (of wrong-mindedness) just collapses.
Awhile back, it was all about "o calories" and people being huffy and offended about being told this forum isn't about "calories", and wanting to start a fight about what they perceived as ‘policing’. Well, folks, it’s called TOS. Terms of service, and then there’s “trolling”. I remember one such poster wearing ChrisB out, with his trolling.
That calorie thinking (just gimme the weight-loss mindset) is an entirely alien and rather aggressive approach to any part of the tradition of water fasting. Tradition is the issue here—it would seem. A lack of respect for it, and some false idea that things need shaking up. They do, but not here, they need the mind to change form being all about attack and defense. Wrong focus. The
Water Fast is an internal process, not a gym exercise or boot camp.
But the activity (of trying to engage and provoke debate, and whispering that ‘people here don’t agree with me’ ) amounts to trolling, pure and simple. People are usually banned for it.
It's very tiring, I agree, and becomes embarrassing to think of sending anyone here, in good faith. Well, there’s lots of forums on curezone, I always say. There's something for everyone, and no one needs to be 'left out'. if you don't like this one, make your own!
But people who object to the beliefs and
Science underpinning a forum such as this one –which has very precise parameters, should not visit it. Simple. To do so, and to post as if one is a member in good faith is to be disruptive. A strange thing to want to do, while water fasting. Sounds more like liver issues at work, imv.
Then it seems others might have been invited, almost as a way to 'shake up the old school' and supplant it,(esp. now that Chrisb'sabsence has taken its toll.) Or some such silly idea. But it could be just the power of attraction at work. Maybe people are being sent t=from the weight loss forum to here, because 'nothing's happening there'.
But that's not a good enough reason to be here. That's a bit like going to a vegan place when you'd rather be at McDonald's, and then bad-mouthing the menu.
And when Chris was always here, he would post tirelessly to new people, outlining the whole thing, and how it works, and always encouraging a person to read the lit, and not just to 'ask for passing opinions'.
I blame a lot of this feeling that's crept in this winter esp. on twitter, and people texting all over the place. The forum then becomes just another place to post for blind "support", and not a place where people come to actually study what's been accomplished by others who have followed that path.
I hope the forum remains a place where a well-intentioned new to fasting person CAN come for good and true information. These people are a credit to everyone. If some who stumble here get scared away by what seems ‘unsupportive’ facts about "water only", then probably their issues and focusses are not within the scope of this forum.
his is just a glitch though, I think. It's a big drag, but come spring, it'll likely change.
