Yes Marci, I too hope to find SOME resolution. But I must admit, I am close to being hopeless.:( But I guess in that situation ANYTHING can be something.
I just wanted to add some more information in case Hveragethi does decide to take a chance at this. I wouldn't blame her if she him if he didn't.
I tried rubbing some lavender oil on my thyroid to help with the hypothyroidism, but that sent me into a blubbering crying attack within about two hours. I have no idea why, but I KNOW it was a result of the lavender oil.
Lavender oil is estrogenic.
I have developed some severe skin sagging at my neck. Now, I know I am aging, but this is NOT normal aging. I once saw a picture of someone with acromegly(sp?) and this is the appearance I can most liken it to. Big wrinkles around my mouth face and neck. This odd thing comes and goes. I cannot predict it, but I never plan to go anywhere but work and I only hope it doesn't happen while I am there, because it is quite apparent to those around me that know me on what I call "good days." Except I should say good times, because the appearance can change in a matter of minutes. I do "feel" it when it starts to happen, but I don't know how to counteract it.
It is unlikely to be acromegaly. If it were you would have other symptoms that would let you know for sure such as severe headaches and bone disorders.
The most common cause of sagging skin is a lack of silica. This leads to a decline of collagen and elastin in the skin causing it to sag. Same principle that causes wrinkles. Silica levels drop as we age due to declining stomach acid levels. This reduces the conversion of silicon dioxide (silica) in to the absorbable orthosilicic acid. Using antacids, acid blockers, calcium from coral, dolomite or oyster shell, magnesium oxide or alkaline waters all contribute to this problem. Keep your stomach acid up and try adding silica to your drinking water. You will also need to make sure that you are getting plenty of vitamin C as it is also required for collagen and elastin synthesis.
Being that the problem is coming and going it also sounds like you are retaining water at times. When you retain water it will cause the skin to stretch reducing the appearance of the wrinkles and sagging. This is why alpha hydroxy acids are used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. They chemically burn the skin causing swelling. Not good for the skin though.
I also have developed a sensation of "wetness" around the base of the back of my neck and hairline. To the point, I will feel my neck and hair and it is actually oily. It took me some time to determine the source of this sensation, and it seems as if it's related to movement of fluids and whatever into my large colon. I had read of putting boric acid into the vagina to fight candida,
Yes, mild acids are great for controlling Candida as the acidity turns off the growth gene for the Candida, and keeps it in a realtively harmless yeast form as opposed to the aggressive and pathogenic fungal form.
so I tried it. When I do this, I soon get that feeling of fluid and I have an easy bowel movement??? This never happens otherwise. I wonder to myself if the boric acid kills something allowing the "dam" to be broke and the yeast on the colon wall falls off and creates exposure to the nerves in my colon to the fluid and therefore I can feel it? I know this is soo strange, but it is definitely a pattern. Why I feel it in my neck area I don't know.
I can't say for sure on this one. If I had to take a guess though I would go with you are influencing your hormones. Boric acid contains boron, which is best known for strengthening bones. But it also helps to balance the hormones. The most common cause of constipation in women is a high estrogen to progesterone ratio resulting in hypothyroidism. Boric acid can be toxic though so I recommend using citric acid instead. And for a laxative I recommend magnesium citrate or malate. A dose of 500mg several times a day should do it. Magnesium is also excellent for diabetics by helping with insulin formation and by helping to prevent insulin damage.
About 3 months ago I developed a funky looking mole about the size of a pomegranite seed over the area of my pancreas/spleen. I have been putting apricot seed lotion and ichthammol drawing salve on it, and it seems to be shrinking.
Okay, another strange thing that has happened for at least 7 yrs is, I will have what I call a "bad" period of fatigue and fibro symptoms.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder of low ATP levels being generated by muscle cells. Again this is why magnesium malate is used to treat it. Both magnesium and malic acid (malate) elevate ATP levels.
Then within a day or two I develop a streak of pain and sometimes redness down my arms. It will eventually move down a finger or two, and whichever fingers develop this will have a black looking skinny streak in the nailbed. This will grow out. I've tried to smear the stuff and it kinda looks like it might be blood. I know I'm so weird!lol If you can't help I understand, but if you can share some insight it would be wonderful to have something to ponder other than how much I hate my body and what's going on with it.
Not sure about the pain and redness. Vertical black streaks in the nails though are actually little hemorrhages. So yes, it would be blood.
Of course, there are other things, but these are some of the most puzzling things.
Also, I don't know if it matters but I was put on Lantus insulin about 9 yrs ago when all this fatigue etc.,ect. started. That's probably coincidental, but maybe?? After all it is made using e-coli somehow. That just doesn't seem like a good thing??
Insulin is not a good thing regardless. It is one of those "necessary evils". It is necessary if the beta cells are dead or damaged, but it also causes the serious side effects in diabetes. The retinopathy, gangrene, kidney failure, high blood pressure, and most of the heart disease is all due to insulin damage.
And I was also bit by a louse(daughter from daycare, lovely I know), about 7 yrs ago. The spot swelled up and I had terrible headaches, my hair fell out, I lost about 10 pounds, night sweats.
Keep in mind that diabetes can also lead to immune impairment, so infections can be worse in diabetics.
So I know this is probably too much, but even just some minor insight??? Thanks
Sorry for the delay. My friend was visiting from Japan so I have not been online for the last few days.
Hi, I've been here way too long but haven't posted in a long time. I tried to get away from all of this and see if not focusing on it would help heal from it in some way, but needless to say, it hasn't. I am asking you about all this because, even before I went away, I always gathered soo much invaluable information from your posted. I wanted to jump up and down and scream halelulah from the roof-tops when you said alkalinity will NOT help rid oneself from candida. I had a natuopathic doc praise me for having an alkaline ph everywhere(blood, urine, saliva), yet, I was like, "if this is so good, why the hell do I feel this bad?" Anyway, I have type 1 diabetes,
This can be addressed as well. Were you on insulin to begin with or oral hypoglycemics progressing to insulin?
hypothyroidism,
There are numerous things that can cause this. Hypothalamic or pituitary disorders, low iodine, chlorine or fluorine (fluoride) exposure from drinking water, showering, or pools, bromine exposure from spas, chronic stress, adrenal dysfunction, estrogen dominance, poor T4 to T3 conversion, high rT3 levels, Hashimoto's thyroidosis.......... More history will be needed for this one as well.
been told--premature ovarian failure,
Do you know why? Medications? Turner's syndrome? Chemical exposure? Autoimmune? Infection?
adrenals are low-functioning.
This could affect your thyroid, especially increasing the risk of autoimmmune thyroid disorder. Are you staying away from stimulants (Caffeine, nicotine, etc.)? Have you had any steroidal medications? What is your diet like?
Seems like I have some sort of assault occuring in my endocrine system starting over 20 yrs ago. I know I've had candida for the last 9. I hemmoraged when I gave birth to my daughter resulting in iron therapy. Massive doses of iron for at least 6 months. I never regained my periods until 2 yrs ago when I had a bioenergetic machine called ondamed "rebalance" my female hormones, I had a period within the month. Now they have stopped again.
Again more information would be helpful. How early did you start menstruating? Are you underweight/overweight? Excess facial hair? Hair falling out? Dry hair and skin?........ As much history as you can supply as well as symptoms, supplements you are taking, meds you are taking, etc. would be a great help.
I also had mycoplasma pneummonia about 4 yrs ago, feels like I still have it lurking, my antibodies are still at "current infection" level.
Mycoplasmas are cell wall deficient bacteria. My favorite way to deal with infectious pneumonia or bronchitis is with a mixture of chaparral, thyme, and horseradish. The powders are mixed together in equal parts. The recommended dose is 2 capsules 3 times daily at least 20 minutes before meals. As a kicker I like to also use a capsule with 8 to 10 drops of eucalyptus globulus essential oil 3 times daily. It makes you smell like vapor rub for a while, but it works. The chaparral is a powerful full range antimicrobial (viruses, bacteria, fungi). It also supports the adrenals. The essential oils from the thyme, horseradish, and eucalyptus enter the blood and are excreted through the lungs. All 3 of these oils will kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The longest I have ever seen this take to clear up pneumonia or bronchitis was 3 days. If ever using this on a child I would eliminate the eucalyptus oil.
I have more recently developed gastroparesis with constipation, totally feels awful.
Gastroparesis is common with diabetes and hypothyroidism. One thing I highly recommend are juniper berries. The powder is the best, and letting it contact your tongue will work best. The berries will function as a bitter in this manner, which stimulates the vagus nerve. This is the nerve damaged in gastroparesis. Secondly, juniper berries help to strengthen nerves in the body. So this could help with strengthening the vagus nerve. And juniper berries work like like insulin doing an excellent job of dropping blood sugar. Don't collect your own unless you know what you are doing. There are very toxic species, due to podophyllumtoxin content. And the unripe berries are extremely hard on the kidneys. You only use the completely ripe berries. Getting them from a health food store is your best bet. You will also need to get your blood sugar under control if the problem is from demyelination from the high glucose. Lecithin granules, B12 (sublingual), and essential fatty acids are all excellent for myelin regeneration. It was once thought that myelin did not regenerate, but studies have shown that it does regenerate slowly. But again the blood sugar must be controlled as the demyeliniation in diabetes, which also causes the neuropathy, is caused from the elevated glucose. Insulin is responsible for the gangrene, kidney failure, hypertension, retinopathy, and much of the heart disease seen in diabetics. So it would be nice to see you get off the insulin as well. And yes, studies have shown regneration of beta cells with gymnema sylvestre and green tea catechins. I would stick to the gymnema though as the catechins are not compatible with other herbs or medications.
If you prefer not to post a lot of the informaiton I asked about on a public forum you can private message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
I really don't know how this body goes on, but it does. I am almost 37. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.
Hi,
I was reading your reply and it's weird how you mentioned about pneumonia and how to treat it (see below).
How much of the powders do you need to mix equally? And where can I buy them from, also how much do you take and for how long? Thanks!
An ounce of each of the powders mixed together will make enough to last you a while.
Find a health food store locally that sells bulk herbs. If they don't have them see if they can oder them or check online. Altogether with herbs, oil and capsules it shoudl be no more than $15. And that will give you a lot left over since very little is required.
Again the longest I have ever seen this take is 3 days. It is a good idea to continue with the herbs for at least a couple days after symptoms clear up just to make sure all of the infection is gone.
Hello! Wow so much to ponder, yet all the possibilities that you mentioned are so dead-on in many ways. I am a juvenile/type1 diabetic so they put me on insulin right away at 15 yrs old. I had not had a period until then. I started my period not long after starting the insulin--so I guess that's late from what I gather.
Not necessarily. It varies a lot between individuals. And there are other factors that play a role. In particular amount of body fat. Women who have extremely low body fat levels, such as female marathon runners, will not menstruate. So if you had an abnormally low body fat content this could have been the cause. And insulin stimulates fat production, which could have stimulated the start of menses.
I have many responses I want to post right away, but I want to think about the schedule of events that occured so I can try to avoid too much extra information. But I will mention that I do have thyroid antibodies, so it's Hashimoto's.
Focus on your adrenals. Low affinity antibodies result from a lack of immune modulating corticosteroids being released from the adrenals. I posted details on this on the adrenal support board. If you want to understand low affinity antibodies I posted some info on the mirena board about autoimmunity. Here, I found the post:
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1392803#
Also I am so excited about the treatment for the mycoplasma! I have used the Essiac Teathat comes from the HFS and it always helps me, and it contains chapparal. I wonder if that is why?
That would definitely be part of it. Chaparral is a pretty strong antiseptic. I also like it because it aids the adrenal glands by raising vitamin C in the adrenals.
Plus, I can't wait to give the juniper berries a try, I feel it started out being a low stomach acid issue but has gone on to effect the vagus nerve. I have b-12 injectable, and the stomach movements occur within the hour when I give these to myself. But the subligual does not seem to be as effective?
It could be something as simple as the form of B12. Like many other vitamins there is not a singular form of B12. The term vitamin B12 actually refers to a group of cobalamins. Just like there are around 20 forms of vitamin D, 6 form of vitamin E, at least 2 forms of vitamin K.... Methylcobalamin works the best. Cyanocobalamin is more readily available though.
Anyway, I'm getting carried away with info, so I'll stop for now. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR RESPONDING. I thought maybe you were a "him" but someone else reffered to you as a "her" in a previous post and there wasn't a correction. Sorry for assuming:). Bobbi
You were right, and there was a correction. If you go back and look at my response I struck out the error and corrected it in her section of the post. I just don't mention my gender because some women don't want to discuss their health problems with a man, or feel that a man would not understand female issues. She probably assumed I was a female because I posted a lot of information on the Minerna board.
Hveragerthi,
I have also been following your posts with much interest.
Can you tell me if this treatment that your recommend for pneumonia and bronchitis is also recommended for bronchiectisis?
Bronchiectisis is a chronic condition which I have which causes mucus to accumulate in the lungs. I've been told I have mild COPD.
It will help with the infections that can occur with bronchiectasis, but not the bronchiectasis itself. To deal with the actual bronchiectasis I recommend silica, vitamin C, and gotu kola. The idea here is to build back up collagen and elastin levels in the bronchial tree and in the rest of the lungs for the COPD. These proteins are what give our tissues their strength and flexibility. They are made up of amino acids (proline, hydroxyproline, lysine, hydroxylysine, and glycine), along with silica, vitamin C, and sulfur. The amino acids and sulfur are easy enough to get from diet that we are rarely deficient. Silica on the other hand gets harder to absorb as we age due to declining stomach acid levels. The use of antacids, acid blockers, alkaline waters, and other alkalinizing substances further aggravate this problem. To get around the absorption problem it is best added to your drinking water so you are ingesting small amounts throughout the day. Since it is poorly absorbed in single doses adding to your water will allow the absorption of small amounts with each drink giving a much higher daily absorption of the silica. You can either add a little pure silica powder or a liquid silica supplement to your drinking water source. For vitamin C natural is better. Dietary sources include watercress, kiwis, papaya, and berries. Herbally I like amla, acerola cherry, and nettle leaf (also a good silica and sulfur source). Nettle also supplies small amounts of zinc and copper, which are catalysts for collagen and elastin formation.
A few other suggestions are fenugreek mixed with a little cayenne taken throughout the day. The cayenne will stimulate the release of fluid in to the lungs to help keep the mucous fluid. The fenugreek helps to thin out the mucous to aid in removal. A little licorice root or yucca root will strengthen the effects of these herbs as well as reduce the inflammation.
If you know the cause of the bronchiectasis then this can be addressed directly. There are numerous causes of bronchiectasis from infections to hereditary conditions like cystic fibrosis.
I don't use any inhalers or take any medications for it, preferring of course, to use natural substances and methods to deal with it.
I have never been a smoker.
I also have digestive issues (bloating, IBS, constipation) which I've been addressing every which way I can - SCD diet, coffee enemas, raw garlic, coconut water kefir, raw dairy, epson salt baths, colon hydrotherapy, Betaine HCL, L-glutamaite, digestive bitters, parasite cleanses, fiber supplements, digestive enzymes, you name it! I'm mentioning this because I believe everything that's happening in our bodies are related, and these two issues are my biggest health challenges.
Bloating most often indicates fermentation from low stomach acidity and/or a lack of flora and/or yeast overgrowth from the previous two. IBS is from a lack of flora. You are on the right track especially with the kefir and fiber. I don't care for enzymes or betaine HCl for long term use. Let the body produce its own enzymes and acid.
You are right about the connection though. The most common cause of bloating is lack of stomach acid. One effect of this is a decline in silica absorption. Silica is not absorbed as silica but rather as orthosilicic acid. Small amounts are formed by the action of water on silica, which is how plants are able to absorb it as well. The presence of acid though, in this case stomach acid increases the conversion of silica in to orthosilicic acid. As we age our stomach acidity declines leading to lower silica levels in tissues. This results in much of what we consider as aging problems as we lose the ability to form sufficient collagen and elastin. We see this as osteoporosis, emphysema, diverticulitis, osteoarthritis, arteriosclerosis, wrinkles, cellulite................
Applied in bronchiectasis the decline of silica is involved in a loss of collagen and elastin, which weakens the bronchial tree and bronchioles and loss of their elasticity.
Two other suggestions. Avoid stimulants like caffeine, which includes the coffee enemas. Caffeine is hard on the adrenals, which increases their need for the body's available vitamin C. This leaves less vitamin C available to the other tissues of the body. Same principle as to why smokers age quicker. The nicotine taxes the adrenals reducing vitamin C levels to places like the bones and skin.
I'm a 55 year old female who has been a life long "health food" type person.
Hello again Hveragerthi,
Hello again Hveragerthi, This interferes with the absorption of dietary fats and fat soluble vitamins. I recommend adding some lecithin granules to your diet to compensate. There are ways to keep this to a minimum. Chromium polynicotinate 200mcg 3 to 4 times daily. Gymnema sylvestre and white kidney bean extract before each meal to lower sugar absorption and carb breakdown. cytomel BID These can be dealt with as well if you still have your thyroid. You have to wean off the drugs slowly though if you want to come off of them. Helpful herbs are black walnut hull, ashwagandha and nettle leaf. This is not going to help with regualting your blood sugar. And its affects on the adrenals can also have adverse effects on the thyroid. Again, not good for the adrenals. These are hard on the liver so I am glad you are using them rarely. I don't care for EPO. A lot of it is extracted with hexane, and it is very unpredictable with hormones. It can balance them in some cases and make them haywire in other women. Sounds like the later in your case. Unopposed estrogen suppresses the thyroid, which leads to constipation. Peppermint is not a good choice in most digestive aids. It can settle the stomach, but it also relaxes the sphincter muscle in the stomach, which can aggravate heartburn. And gentian will not work unless it contacts the tongue as it is a bitter. I recommend increasing the zinc to 25mg twice daily with meals. Sounds more like a dairy allergy. Probiotics have actually been found in studies to aid with leaky gut. The types are varied; Natrol extra strentgh 50 billion plus, the other is lactobacillus acidophillus and Bifidobacterium longum and B.bifidum.3 billion Then I take one for women's health that has l.rhamnosus GR-1, and l. rueteri RC-14 5 billion. Not a problem. I am not in to synthetic vitamins for the most part, but I see you are getting real vitamins from the herbs you are taking. A lot of magnesiums also contain magnesium oxide even if they state magnesium citrate on the front of the label. Read the ingredients and make sure that it does not contain any oxide. The oxide burns the intestinal wall. It sounds like you likely had hyperparathyroidism. This is the most common cause of hypercalcemia, and vitamin D deficiencies are the most common trigger for hyperparathyroidism. Did the doctor also check your PTH levels? This is very common in non-breast fed babies. Especially if babies are taken by C-section. The problem is that babies are exposed to hospital pathogens when they are born. Breast feeding helps to build up the benefical flora that control these pathogens. He may have been trying to protect you because of the earlier abuse. You know how society is anymore. You have to be very careful showing affection to your children these days because it may be misconstrued. With the earlier abuse people will watch the victims actions even closer because victims sometimes act out in manners considered inappropropriate later on. So any affection he showed could have been deemed inappropriate by people who don't known any better. It is a shame, but society needs to learn to be less judgmental. These can definitely cause health problems in some individuals. I have seen too many examples. I really think the whole mercury amalgams causing disease is BS. I won't go in to an explanation right now. Fluoride is a halogen, just like iodine, and it can displace iodine causing hypothyroidism. Most likely anemia from menstruation. Being the whole family has thyroid issues I would think that a more likely culprit would be exposure to xenoestrogens, possibly from herbicides or pesiticides, or PCBs or dioxin in the water supply. You should have never done that anyway. Ephedra is safe when used properly, but recreationally for energy is not proper. You just end up crashing your adrenals. Caffeine will also do this. Could be a hormonal issue, which again can affect your thyroid. The list of causes here is very long. It can be from something as simple as allergies or medications to autoimmune conditions and many other disorders. They should have never removed your gallbladder. Too late now though. A diagnosis of low cortisol cannot be made based on one blood test. Levels flucuate wildly throughout the day. Not having a gallbladder, diabetes, low vitamin D levels, the steroids they are giving you, thyroid medications, possible hyperparathyroidism.......... Your lucky to have any bone left. Very common in CFS he said? Chronic fatigue can have various causes. I would not consider osteoprosis to be associated unless he is thinking the fatigue from hypercalcemia. If your body perceived a high estrogen load from xenoestrogens then this could have led to a shutdown. As the xenoestrogens were metabolized the ovaries would have slowly kicked back in. When you mentioned chemical exposure earlier were you talking about estrogenic substances such as herbicides, pesticides, or maybe dioxins? Cayenne pepper contains a similar molecule that does the same thing. Fenugreek is also great for thinning mucus. Orthostatic hypotension is a classic symptom of adrenal dysfunction. The adrenals release epinephrine when you stand to constrict the blood vessels and compensate for gravity's pulling the blood away from the brain. If the adrneals do not respond quick enough the lack of blood flow to the brain leads to the temporary dizziness. Other symptoms of low adrenal function include allergies/asthma, fatigue, hormone imbalances, thyroid problems, autoimmunity, water retention, chronic inflammatory conditions, abnormal stress response (easily irritated, flies off the handle easily)......... I had IV edta chelation These do not work. Run the machine without any feet in their and you still get the foam and discolored water. I feel the water is becoming hyperalkaline from the minerals in the water and the electrolysis, which would lead to the formation of hydroxides. The hydroxides would then react with the oils from the plastic container or oils from the skin or lotions leading to the formation of soaps. Thus the "scum" and discoloration. Some metal also ends up in the water leading to discoloration. A local news station did an expose' on this and demonstrated that the scum and discoloration still happens when no feet are in the water. I figured you were in medicine. I saw your medical abbreviation above. I don't go to church anymore b/c I can't stand smiling and talking to people. Same with ball-games or sports activities for my kids. I try to stay away from the docs as much as possible, but unfortunately I am a victim of modern medicine and MUST go at least once a year to have prescriptions refilled. Most of what you are dealing with should not be that hard to deal with. Just focus on one or two things at a time. I recommend focusing on the adrenals and osteoporosis first. With as much as things are interconnected you would be surprised at how much crossover there is with therapies. For example, focusing on the adrenals can lead to improved thyroid function, better blood sugar regulation, and lowered bone loss. Lab tests for thyroid function are pretty much a joke. Several reasons for false readings but too long to explain right now. Again this would take a lot of explaining. Attraction is a balancing act between a lot of different different compounds; estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, prolactin, oxytocin, vasopressin, serotonin, dopamine, prostaglandins, etc. Imbalances with any of these can swing your moods very quick. Take some gymnema sylvestre about 15 minutes before eating the fruit to control this. Gymnema is a sugar blocker and blocks the absorption of about 70 to 80% of the sugar you ingest afterward. and try to get 3-6 ouncesof meat a day. Not organic or anything, but do eat salmon with bones at least 3 times a week Make sure the salmon is wild caught. Farm raised is notorious for having very high levels of heavy metals due to thier feed. Sometimes farm raised salmon is dyed pink to pass it off as wild caught. So buy from trusted sources. , eggs, beef, chicken(not much b/c I always invision the conditions in which they are raised and killed etc and I want to puke), and turkey. Not much junk. Maybe a potato chip every now and then. I don't eat many starchy veggies either. I do have 1 cup of coffee in the morning.
I tried to narrow things down a little, and I have read the information given thus far and it has already given so much information to work with, but here is a little more detail. Some of this is personnal but if it helps someone else...
Sorry ahead of time for spelling errors ect, details are not my strong point.lol(probably part of the problem)

Probiotics and prebiotics
I do not always do well with probiotics, they make my nose stuffy(when they get to my colon, just a pattern I noticed) They also increase the dreaded MUCUS. I am guessing this is due to the leaky gut thing.
The prebiotics are nutraFlora FOS and Bi2muno TGOS.1300 mg
plus some days a flinstone multi with extra choline(cringe---blast me if you need to, but it makes me feel better)
Recently added just b/c they were having a sale at the store--- Lycopene 5 mg 3Xday, lutein 25 mg 3X day, shark liver oil 1 per day.
Oh, and Taurox, it's an immune system modulator!! Makes a world of difference in my life.
Sometimes magnesium citrate but it makes my gut feel like its floating upward and moving in the wrong direction(backwards) and makes me feel very alkaline.
Sometimes calcium gluconate to counteract the feeling magnesium gives me. Helps a little.
BUT I had a HIGH BLOOD CALCIUM level about 1 yr ago! The doc was pretty puzzled by this b/c my vit D level was low normal (22) at the time. All I know is that this caused the most awful depression, really, I wanted to have a car accident or something awful jsut to take me out of this world. This is NOT like me at all. I used to be a very positive person, but these challenges have made me one of the most negative people to be around! I get on my own nerves!lol But anyway, once this level went back to normal, I felt way better, but still don't know why if went out of wack. Maybe too much thyroid hormone was all I could figure.
Health history: sorry for any erroneous info:
normal birth, not breast fed
very sickly with ears nose throat stuff many antibiotics, mosty penicillin I think.
sexually abused by family member at 8 yrs old, don't know if thats important, but it has influenced some decisions in my life and my view of men(not all negative, just reality) Plus, my father stopped having ANY personnal contact with me(hugging, etc) at about age 12, due to my "developing". He is not who abused me, but his actions were very damaging to my psyche. This was way worse to me than the sexua| abuse!
I had all the usual vaccines, ect.
I had my first "silver" filling at about age 10 I think, dentist was a real nut-case, probably used only mercury fillings.lol I also had flouride treatments weekly at the private school I attened.
I think these two things really contributed to my demise. I was never an energetic child. But when puberty hit, I never felt like doing anything! Probably that adrenal immune modulating low-specificity auto-antibody thing(I think that's what it was) occuring maybe?? Maybe due to flouride, wheat, mercury, milk???
I live in a very rural area now, but grew up right in between a major expressway and international airport. Our house was nestled on a one-block area right between the two! My mother, God love her, grew our food in the backyard and canned so we ate them all year round. No wonder them tomatoes grew so big!lol I'd say I have some environmental toxin exposure. My whole immediate family has thyroid issues. Don't know if theirs is auto immune though. I've asked them, but they don't know.
When I developed diabetes I was put on the ADA diet and so my bs were very erratic, never stable. But then I discover low-carb and things stabilized. But I did my fair share ofAspartame and brominated vegetable oil(mt. dew).
Through college I felt awesome. I was a runner, worked full-time and had a full-time class schedule. The ONE AND ONLY THING I did different was that I was using an "all natural" energizer that contained EPHEDRA. Of course that ended with the ban.
Got married at 24 had 2 kids in 3 yrs. Haven't really felt well since I was 27 after the birth of my second child.
I'll give some blood work info, but none of it is very recent and it's just from memory.
low white blood cell 2.8 was the lowest I think.
High potassium once, but it corrected on it's own.
Have had high eosoniphils on every cbc for the last 9 yrs.
Had high amylase and lipase, but they yanked out my GB as a result. Have no idea what it is now.
Was told I had low growth hormone, they used something else to determine though, I think IGF-1, maybe?
The doc only did blood work for cortisol, he said it was low for the time of day?
I have osteoporosis. He said from lack of absorption.
THis same one said he just assumed my ovaries were under an autoimmune attack like every other endocrine organ seemed to be, thus the premature ovarian failure. Boy, he was shocked when they started back up afer the ondamed. But he was knowledgable in both natural and conventional methods, so he was intrigued this happened. I am not sure that is what caused the return becasue I was doing so many alternatives at the time.
I was taking guafinesin regularly to thin all this mucus issue I have.
Doc started me on adhd med vyvanse due to orthostatic hypotension--which this helped tremendously
I had IV h202
I had several meyers cocktails IV
I was doing ionic foot baths 2 a week
I did the hyperbaric o2 chamber
I was also doing acupuncture( I think for liver and kidney qi deficiency) but the doc never really said.
Now, I do think these things helped some, but for the outrageous amount of money spent, I should be frickin super woman!
now I just stay home 80 percent of the time. Only leave to go to the grocery and to and from work.(nuclear medicine is what I do)
I have symptoms of hypo thyroidism, but my blood work says the opposite. I have dry course hair, fatigue, cold hands and feet. Very intolerent to cold or ANYTHING blowing on me, especially my face. Now, I have long, dark hair that looks healthy and shiney at some moments, but can turn almost fuzzy reddish and dry looking and start to "pop" out by the handful within hours. Those close to me have witnessed it occuring and commented. So very strange.
I have been told I don't "look" sick at all. That I actually "look" quite well and healthy. I do make an effort to appear decent when I go out in public, but it's alot of effort.
My husband loves me and wants me well. He is still very attracted to me even after all this! I am frustrated by this because I have feeling of genuine disgust at times, but then at other times I feel very attracted to him and very sexual. I mean, like night and day from one moment to the next! I don't know whats going on on at the good times, but it is something going on on the inside of me, like hormonal or something. I wish it was like the good moments all the time.
Anyway, hope this gives maybe some relevent info. I've spent too long on here today already, but I'll do my best to try back later if there is more info needed.
I forgot to mention my diet now. Pretty boring. I did the candida diet for over five years, that was awful. now I just have whatever sound good, but within reason. I eat many vegggies, not much fruit(on occasion, but hate the sugar fluctations it causes),
If it were during mensturation I would say anemia would be a good possibility.
Being that it is before menstruation it is likely a drop in blood sugar. As progesterone levels drop before menstruation, there is also a drop in blood sugar. This is because progesterone is essential for the production of adrenal steroids, including cortisol. When blood sugar drops cortisol is normally released from the adrenals. This in turn stimualtes the release of stored glycogen from the liver, which in turn brings blood sugar levels back up to normal. Therefore, the drop in progesterone reduces cortisol, preventing the release of glycogen, thus allowing the blood sugar to drop too low.
I recommend eating some nuts or cheese to help stabilize the blood sugar, or try glutamine supplmentation right before menstruating. Glutamine is the only substance other than glucose that the brain can use as fuel without conversion. So it can be used as a substitute for glucose for the brain. It needs to be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals.
