M: "This post is an effort to clear up WHY Calcium Relaxes Muscles along with Magnesium, but the so-called experts cannot understand !
The problem is that the claim of calcium relaxing muscles is WRONG, and it has been proven wrong over and over. Some people just refuse to admit when they have been PROVEN wrong!
I have covered other Details in this post:
//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1389409#i
For this present post I will try to make it Simple to understand?
Acids Cause Muscles to Contract !"
RESPONSE: Wrong. Again, if this were the case then how do we move? How do women conceive since the normal pH of the vagina is acidic? And uterine contractions play a role in the semen reaching the egg. Not to mention the FACT that muscle contractions and relaxations are required for birthing. So if the uterus is in a constant state of contraction from the acidity then none of us would have ever been born. Then there is the FACT that movement also requires a synchronized contraction of one muscle group while opposing muscles relax AT THE SAME TIME!!! Since the pH is going to be IDENTICAL in both muscle groups at the same time then this proves that the hypothesis of acids cause muscle contraction and alkalinity causes relaxation is garbage. Even a third grader should be able to see that this hypothesis makes absolutely no sense! And as I pointed out earlier, a worm contracting to having acid poured on it is not evidence. It will also contract in response to having alkaline calcium hydroxide or sodium bicarbonate on it. These will also likely kill the worm. So can we claim that the sodium bicarbonate and calcium hydroxide that one poster is telling people to drink is deadly? Think about it, this is common sense!!!
And again I ask you how does our stomach work? After all it is in a very acidic environment and according to your false hypothesis it should be in a constant state of contraction.
M: "Alkalines Cause Muscles to Relax !"
RESPONSE: See above.
M: "Nitrogen may be the Joker card?
Nitrogen Isotopes may cause opposite reactions to take place depending upon which Isotope the Nitrogen is in !
Muscles are made up of protein !"
RESPONSE: Which are composed of amino acids. Uh oh, so there are acids in muscles. Therefore according to the garbage hypothesis muscles should be in a constant state of contraction and therefore we are unable to move at all. All this typing on the computer must just be a bad dream since the amino acids are preventing our fingers from moving!
M: "Protein is made of Nitrogen !"
RESPONSE: No, Protein is made of amino acids, which are based with ammonia.
M: "Nitrogen has Different isotopes !"
RESPONSE: So does carbon, oxygen, silicon, boron, beryllium, lead, cadmium, plutonium, hydrogen,…………….. There are very few elements that don’t. So the fact that nitrogen has isotopes is pretty irrelevant.
M: "Our Endocrine Glands may regulate the pH of our Lymphatic fluids to cause our Muscles to react as they may, be it Acid or Alkaline !"
RESPONSE: Once again, movement requires both a contraction of one muscle group AT THE SAME TIME as the opposing muscle groups relax even though BOTH ARE AT THE SAME EXACT pH AT THE SAME TIME. How hard is it to understand this ultra-simple concept?
M: "The Osmotic pressure of our cells may play a role in this as well !"
RESPONSE: So you have gone from the acidity claim now to the movement of water. Why do you keep changing stories every time you are caught making stuff up?
M: "This may mean the Sodium to Potassium ratios may have a bearing upon this operation of our muscles !"
RESPONSE: Sodium potassium ratios have nothing to do with the acidity, or with osmotic pressure. So which of your many hypotheses is supposed to be the truth?
M: "Acid conditions of our Muscle(Protein) may cause the Muscle to Contract !"
RESPONSE: Already disproven.
M: "Alkaline conditions of our Muscle(Protein) may cause the Muscle to Relax !"
RESPONSE: Already disproven.
M: "When the Muscle become Acidic to Contract there may be a Burn of protein, thus a release of Nitrogen waste !"
RESPONSE: The so called nitrogen waste you speak of is ALKALINE ammonia, which is produced from the breakdown of amino acids that form proteins. This ALKALINE ammonia is then converted in to the antioxidant uric acid, most of which is hydrolyzed in to urea and passed off as urine.
M: "In order to Relax the Muscle(Protein)Isotope may need to become Alkaline again !"
RESPONSE: If this were really the case the nitrogen waste you mentioned, called ammonia, which is very ALKALINE would do this. Of course if this was going on as you claimed then the muscle would quickly waste away when we exercised hard, especially since this creates acidic lactate. So there would be nothing left of a marathon runner by the time they finished the race. Of course this does not happen because your complete hypothesis has no basics of fact whatsoever!
M: "If there is enough Calcium present this may convert the Acidic Nitrogen Isotope back into an Alkaline Isotope form and allow the muscle to relax?"
RESPONSE: Are you changing your story again?!!! You just got done saying in several other posts that it is hydrogen, not nitrogen, that causes acidity. And you claimed that it was the nitrogen that had the great buffering capacity to absorb all the acidity of the hydrogen atoms present in the highly alkaline compound ammonium (NH4). Now you are claiming that this supposedly strong acidic buffer nitrogen is actually acidic? You are giving us the never ending and ever changing story. None of which is real or makes sense.
M: "Yet, we need to get rid of the Excess Acidic Nitrogen waste !"
RESPONSE: See above. Since when is nitrogen acidic? All this time you told us that it was hydrogen that was acidic and the more hydrogen present the acidic the substance. Although I already proved this claim to be false as well.
M: "Magnesium is required for this job !
Thus to enable the muscles to continue to Contract then Relax again requires a steady supply of Calcium and Magnesium in approx 2-1 ratio ranges !
When the so-called Experts talk about Magnesium being a Calcium Blocker and this is WHY they think Calcium is the reason for the Contraction, they may have failed to understand what is taking place?"
RESPONSE: So what bogus story are we failing to understand this time? The more hydrogen the more acidic story? The nitrogen buffers the acid of the hydrogen story? The nitrogen is actually the acid story? The carbon and oxygen are strong buffers to hydrogen story, even though carbonic acid proves this story wrong? So which of the many bogus ever changing stories are we supposed to understand and believe?
M: "Magnesium is an Alkaline and Calcium is an Alkaline !
Both help Muscles to Relax in their own way !"
RESPONSE: How much evidence is it going to take for this poster to realize that his claims are unfounded and outright bogus, which is putting people’s health and safety at risk? I guess I need to post even more proof that calcium causes muscle contraction. Here are some links showing that it causes bronchiole contraction. In other words it can seriously aggravate an asthma attack, which can kill a person!!!:

RESPIRATORY MEDICINE TODAY
Will Calcium Antagonists Find
a New Role in Respiratory Therapy?
”Many pathophysiologic events that underlie bronchial asthma and hyperreactive airway disease are
indeed calcium-dependent phenomena. In a recent report (Chest 86:47.0-482. 1984), Eric W. Russi, MIX and Iahir Ahmed, MD, of the Division of Pulmonary Disease at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, cite numerous examples of these calcium-linked processes. For instance, the release of mediators from mast cells (stimulus-secretion coupling), contraction of ainvay smooth muscle (excitation-contraction coupling), and nene impulse conduction all depend on the availability of free calcium and on the flux of calcium ions."
Calcium references in relation to high blood pressure:
http://longevity.about.com/od/drugs/g/calcium.htm
“These medications works by preventing the arteries from contracting. All muscles in the body need calcium to contract. Calcium channel blockers keep calcium from entering into the muscles that control the arteries. This keeps the arteries from contracting -- in other words the medicine blocks the calcium channel of the artery muscles. The larger arteries means lower blood pressure. “
Calcium in relation to constipation:
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/gastro/archive/3439.html
“Calcium supplements are known to cause constipation.”
Symptoms of hypercalcemia (high calcium levels):
http://www.medicinenet.com/hypercalcemia/page3.htm#symptoms
“What are the signs and symptoms of hypercalcemia?
In the majority of patients with hypercalcemia, the signs and symptoms are minimal. In general, the symptoms increase with higher levels of calcium in the blood. In severe cases, the elevated calcium levels can causeabnormal heart rhythms with specific findings on electrocardiogram (EKG).
Because of the clinical findings that are seen in hypercalcemia, the symptoms are often described as "moans, stones, groans, and bones".
Some of the symptoms include the following:
Moans (gastrointestinal conditions)
• Constipation
• Nausea
• Decreased appetite
• Abdominal pain
• Peptic ulcer disease
Stones (kidney-related conditions)
• Kidney stones
• Flank pain
• Frequent urination
Groans (psychological conditions)
• Confusion
• Dementia
• Memory loss
• Depression
Bones (bone pain and bone-related conditions)
• Bone aches and pains
• Fractures
• Curving of the spine and loss of height”

Hypercalcemia and the cardiovascular system
“Hypercalcemia, acute and chronic, irrespective of the cause, is known to have effects on the heart and the vascular system that are potentially life-threatening. Some of these effects include accelerated atherosclerosis, uncontrolled hypertension, structural effects, and progressive cardiac dysfunction. This case report demonstrates the effects of hyperparathyroidism-induced hypercalcemia on the cardiovascular system and clinical management in a patient with hypertension that was difficult to control.”
M: "Magnesium has approx. 1.4 times the Electro-magnetic Energy Potential as Calcium may have to be able to Neutralize Acids !
"Thus while it may appear that Magnesium is Blocking Calcium, this may be because of the Electro-magnetic Energy Potential that Magnesium has over Calcium?"
RESPONSE: LOL!!! Even if this were remotely true then how would you explain the fact that calcium channel blockers, which block calcium from entering the nerves relaxes blood vessels? By the way, every atom has an electromagnetic energy. So this is all just more pseudoscientific mumbo-jumbo!!! An example of what I am talking about:

M: "Thus Magnesium may Temporarily take the place of a Lack of Calcium by helping cut the Excess Acids and removing the excess Nitrogen, until the needed ratios of Calcium become too Low !"
RESPONSE: Again, the nitrogen waste of protein and therefore amino acid breakdown is very alkaline ammonia, not nitrogen, which is not acidic to begin with. The term pH refers to “the power of hydrogen”, not the power of nitrogen.
M: "When the needed Calcium Levels become too Low in ratio to the Magnesium see just how long before your Heart Contracts into a Heart attack !"
RESPONSE: Develop hypercalcemia (high calcium) and watch how fast you have a heart attack, and or arrhythmia, and or a stroke. The calcium constricts the blood flow leading to coronary irritability (causes arrhythmias), or a decreased blood flow to the heart or brain sufficient enough to cause a heart attack or stroke!
M: "Cause and Effect !
As usual not everything may be as it may 1st seem to be !
Smile Tis your choice."
RESPONSE: This is the reason I spend so much time posting here. Advice being given by some posters is not only erroneous but downright dangerous and possibly deadly. And dead people cannot write testimonials now can they? This is why nobody should blindly follow someone’s word for their claims. Take the time to look at real evidence, not made up scientific mumbo-jumbo being spouted. It can save your life.
