Hi!
I posted my story on Saturday and just had my Mirena removed 30 minutes ago. I am planning to update under my original posting "My possible Mirena-related Symptoms". First, I'm pleased to say that both my Primary Dr. (male) on Monday and my Ob/Gyn (female) today, support my decision to have it removed and admit that all birth control has different effects on different people. I was pleased that I didn't receive the resistance as many other posters have.
The reason why I specifically replied to your posting is that I can completely relate to the anger. My 10-year old has told me several times in recent months that I need "anger management" help. Even my 6-year old asks me why I had to yell, when just telling him would work. It not just a short fuse or impatience, but I find myself saying very cruel things to the people I love most in this world. I am not doing this to hurt them, but I seem to have lost my sympathy and the ability to say things in a way that is appropriate. I have never had violent thoughts or have acted violently, but the mood swings and anger has gotten progressively worse over the last 6 months. I originally posted that I had this in for 3 1/2 years, but I miscalculated. I verified today that I had it put in in Oct 2006, so it's been 2 years and 2 months.
I'm planning to use a combination of supplements, dietary changes, exercise, and positive thinking to avoid a "crash" and to minimize side effects. While I believe everyone who posted very negative experiences post-removal, I'm going to hope for the best and move on...Good luck!
