This sounds like my memory of 45 years ago. I drink water when I get up as much as I can. I have my own bottle with my name on it so I can see how much I assume in a day. Everything has to be easy for me. I often have to remind myself to drink some at mid morning or so and again I drink as much as I can. The bottle is on the counter to keep it at roomtemperature, luckily I never liked cold drinks. When I used to drink soda's in a restaurants or so I always told them No Icecubes.
Indeed water drinking with meals is not good for digestion. I follow
Andreas Moritz books mainly since I can relate to it. I still do some non Ayurveda things, but after reading Owen views (who believes in Andreas but feels he needs supplements. Andreas is against it) I have eg. added enzymes when I eat the wrong food combinations.
It takes a long time (for me at least a year) of reading all the different protocols to find out what you are comfortable with.
I am very practical so when I am home I drink more and when I have to go out I don't so I don't have to use public restrooms.
