Day 11
Day 11 Master Cleanse
Date: 8/25/2007 1:16:17 PM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 2069 times Stayed up SOOO late last night, I'm exhausted. I read on Dr. Weil's website today a pretty shabby review of the Master Cleanse. But elsewhere he RECOMMENDS juice fasts. So what's wrong with this juice fast? He says that people normally regain all the weight and have a harder time keeping it off after this one. Of course my mind says, "yeah, if you're not exercising and are eating pizza." But he planted a seed of doubt.
In the meantime, I feel fine. I'm almost jealous of the big ups and downs and spiritual breakthroughs other people say they have. I just feel normal. No change since Day 4. I'm not really looking back to eating regular food, either. It's so much easier this way. Yeah, it smells good, but no grocery shopping lists, no planning of meals. Just simplicity. And it's easy to throw in a two liter bottle and carry your meals WITH you.
I know they say to keep this drink as your breakfast meal, but what if you did this for breakfast and dinner and did 2 snacks and a regular meal? (Wait isn't that like slimfast?) Call me lazy, but the real world of solid food is over rated. I'm concerned, though, about the glycemic index part of the drink. I suppose it's ok when you're fasting to have little sugar highs, but for the long term I think fitting in some vegetable protein at each sitting is preferable. The feeling of light hunger is something I can get used to. I don't need to stuff myself anymore. Though when I get STARTED eating I'm afraid I may not be able to stop.
Anyway, 12 pounds down this morning. No change in the rest.
