Wow! I've done four days!
How the cleanse works
Date: 6/18/2007 7:43:29 PM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 1483 times I'm still not half way but it feels pretty good to know that I have stuck with it for this long. I've read all about what is happening (or supposed to be happening) physically. As far as I see it, this cleanse basically slows your digestive system down to a halt and goes into cleansing mode where toxins are attacked/sloughed off/ and expelled. The longer you do the fast the deeper the cleaning. Another thing I learned is that it can take quite a few days (seven I think I read?) for meat to pass through your system which is one reason the minimum fast time is 10 days. Also, I read that the reason you simply can't cheat in this (even chewing gum) is that it triggers saliva which triggers your belly to get ready for food which triggers your metabolism (that has now slowed down) and then you're back to square one. Interesting.
I'm not close to having any of the detox "symptoms" which worries me a little about ten days being enough but for me, ten days will be my maximum. Maybe I'll try this again someday.
I went to Chuck-E-Cheese with kids today and had to sit there not eating pizza (which many think is gross but I personally like the crust). Of course I didn't have any but it is very difficult to have this strength. I'm in awe of how much I put in my mouth usually..slicing pizza and serving it and then licking my fingers...gross too!
I'm still crabby with the kids...need to lighten up (I need to check the calendar about my monthly cycle...hmmmm?)
My vitals for the day: Walked two miles (scared to run still) at 5:15 a.m., did push ups and sit ups though :) Drank the FULL SWF and had a major reaction for about 3 hours. I'm glad I was home for the first 2. The rest of the day I drank my drinks and water two drinks with BSM-syrup combo. Overall it was a better day.
