Broke my fast...Some lessons learned
Date: 8/20/2007 7:10:12 AM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 2403 times I appreciate your comments, #75532. That gave me some insight into why I was unable to keep going. I finally gave in at day five. Day five must be the big hump. Anyway, I am appreciative for what I did gain through this little experience: - I realized that a lot of my eating was because I was bored, not hungry.
- I need to stay away from sugar!
- Raw is the only way to go. I do have my exceptions like a toasted whole wheat tortilla shell for my avocado pizza, but for the most part, raw.
- I lost some weight.
- I need to take vitamins next time I try this.
I am wondering if part of the difficulty with this experience was that I was becoming deficient in nutrients. There is a great website called fitday.com. You can input everything you have eaten and it immediately calculates calories, nutrition intake and so on. You can even track and graph your weight. The point is this - I was tracking my juices, and I was extremely nutrient deficient. I wonder if I take my one-a-day, crush it, and stick it in my juices, if this would help. I have heard that cravings can be an indication of the nutrient your body needs. That could explain the craving vs. hunger. It's worth a try next time. I will, however, continue taking my liver/gallbladder prep stuff. I will go ahead and do that this weekend. *joy* Good luck to those who are juicing! I am so greatful for the support and your blogs. We can all learn from each other!
