Update: Ups and Downs
Another Resetting of the clock, but progress noted
Date: 4/26/2007 4:20:12 PM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 1731 times Since my last triumphant post, I've had some ups and downs. On the good side, its been two weeks without coffee and caffiene. This is really positive for me. I also have not bought any cigarettes, though i have smoked a few over the last few days running. Well, I'm regrouping on that one. Also, and concurrently, I had some beers a couple of nights over the week (I've got the week off from work.) So those two things really played into eachother.
I must admit I would rather not have smoked or drank beer at all. I would prefer to report 3 solid weeks of excellent discipline. However, my habits are changing toward the correct goal. Also I am doing things I hadn't really done in the past like I've been cleaning a lot and being very thorough with it. Also meeting some people socially, which I haven't done much of for some time. Also I am much more positive and have better perspective. So overall, the movement is in the right direction.
Nevertheless, I will be pleased to have 1 maybe 2 months straight of 100% compliance to the New West Diet. The clock starts again, though, with progress noted.
What I aim for now is a state of domestic and personal cleanliness and organization. I've long dreamed of penning a novel or book but I've had many wonderful and some not so wonderful experiences of life that have drawn me away from that endeavor. Now that I am in the process of improvement, I think that I can improve my chances of writing a book by being more organized. See, I have accumulated a vast array of knowledge, books, articles, web sites, print outs, maps, etc. I have so much of this stuff I don't even remember it all. So, I will be pleased to organize all this material into something more library like. That is the "real world, non-body" goal I have to help me re-direct cravings, old habits, and so on.
