cancer and protein
what the meat and dairy lobbies don't want you to know!!

'the China Study'. He is an elderly man, and seems
to be in very good shape physically and mentally. He
was clearly not pushing his opinions, but rather
simply presented facts based on over 25 years of
scientific research.
Colin Campbell presented several studies of rats which
were fed cancerous substances. One group of rats was
fed a high protein diet (20%) and the other group was
fed a low protein diet (5%). All the rats who were
on the high protein diet developed tumors and cancers
whereas the low protein group remained cancer free.
The second observation was that the protein that
caused the tumors was casein (milk), an animal
protein. Plant protein did not result in cancer.
These studies are decades old, but have not found
their way into medical knowledge, or rather did not
get past the dairy and meat lobbies.
The China Study researched the connection between the
occurrence of disease and the food that the people eat.
The study was government funded and of massive
proportions, involving thousands of field personnel
and many thousands of participants all over China. The
first observation was that tumors and cancers were
not evenly distributed all over China, but rather
were concentrated in certain areas and absent in
others. This was graphically depicted on a map.
Then researchers went to hundreds of areas and
interviewed the people living there about their
food intake. The result was very clear. The areas
where only plant based food was available showed
practically no incidences of cancer. The more animal
food was available, the more the incidents of cancer
increased. Over a period of over 25 years those
results were compiled and evaluated in scientific
form.
Protein intake of less than 10 % was shown to prevent
chronic diseases, and protein intake of more than
10 % resulted in serious diseases. There is a direct
correlation between animal food consumption and the
occurrence of cancer.
Colin Campbell is a vegetarian, but he did not seem
to push vegetarianism at all. He simply came to
the conclusion that it is dangerous and possibly
suicidal not to be one. For him it became obvious
that vegetarianism puts the odds in one's favor so
strongly that it does not make any sense not to be
a vegetarian. He admitted that there are people who
eat meat, smoke and drink and live to 90 without
getting sick, but he said that it is a mighty big
gamble to rely on such cases, since the China Study
clearly revealed that the evidence is totally clear:
Animal food is a principal cause of cancer and other
deadly diseases, and plant food preserves health and
reverses disease.
Then he presented some government documents which tell
the public that the recommended protein consumption
- in order to prevent chronic diseases - should be
between 10 and 35 percent!!
Another document stated that added sugar consumption -
again in order to prevent chronic diseases - should
not exceed 25%!!
The government propaganda is disregarding all truly
scientific information and instead recommending a
truly deadly diet.
Lastly he recommended two books 1. Overdosed America
2. The Truth about the Drug Companies
Of course he has his own book 'The China Study'.
The thing that impressed me about this talk was
that Colin Campbell was not trying to convert
people, or change anyone's opinion, or push an
agenda. He presented the biggest and longest research
study regarding the correlation between food and
disease. The facts spoke for themselves. Animal food
can and does make you sick and can and does kill you.
