Don Quixote is tilting at Windmills this morning!
Date: 5/27/2005 10:19:29 AM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 1651 times Ever hear the old adage, "you can't fight city hall?" Me, too! But I am anyway. I'm almost positive I should be an attorney, and start a Ralph Nader type practice.
At any rate, the first law of fighting the civil system, they are not beyond lying to protect themselves, and then documenting the lies in the "file"-but luckily, or not so luckily, I have an iron fist mind-with a memory for dates and numbers that is actually pretty frightening! To a large degree, I can remember the individual words spoken in the context of conversation.
I was down at City Hall with our Neighborhood Code Compliance Department this week, I was astounded at their instinct for self preservation in the face of a large error...A breach in confidentiality. It's a long story, but, forever the naive Knight Templar, I charge in where wise men fear to tread.
Actually upon second thought-wise men don't fear to tread-they just don't want to waste their beautiful time on such negative nonsense. On the other hand (Libra, eh?) if there were more people like me, Donna Frye would be mayor of San Diego right now, not because ballots were an issue and statutes are in incongruent, BUT BECAUSE SHE WON! The will and word of the people shall be done.
And on that same note the nonsense in Florida with Jeb Bush and those voters and ballots-why there would be no second term of GW-since there wouldn't have been a first. Enronesqe-BTW The Bush's are close friends and most likely business partners with Lay....Go see Enron: The smartest guys in the Room-for collateral nonsense.
The level of self dealing that goes on in politics and corporate fiefdom is (hehe) congruent. Next I will start teaching math!
I prefer Bob Dylan's lyric-"You don't need a weathervane to know which way the wind Blows" and still I wonder why do we allow it? We are "the People"- Homeland Security measures are gutting our Bill of Rights-have you written their Congressmen/women?
What are we thinking? Or are we thinking? Do we care enough to ACT? "Trust me, I'm from the government"-should scare everyone of us into action. If nothing else-we've had a perfectly good constitution for some time now- At the end of GW's reign our privacy rights as citizen's will be, to a large part, destroyed. These are NOT family values, friends -they are the values of inclusion/exclusion. And, we will be the ones excluded. Money goes to the "included's" domiciles.
Remember, 911~ there were six guys with box cutters-no plastic explosives or nuclear weapons- we have built up our national security and invased our privacy rights as citizens-now even to the point of our health records-so our government can collect profiles more quickly- Do you honestly believe these 6 box cutter wielding terrorists would be the only ones that our Uncle Sam will profile?
And so we plod along like cattle, tooo busy with, say, self actualizing to organize.
We are One, if there is one hungry-you are hungry, If there is one imprisoned, we are imprisoned...Separation from the homeless, unwashed man on the street corner from me is "Maya" nonexistent-we are he and he is us. The imperceptible angst that you feel~ is you being your brother and sister- And they being the God in You!
9th
Many of us have lived long enough to know better-So the question is-What do we want to do about it? On the way to self actualization-ahem, that is!
