1st Day of the Master Cleanse
hi-ho, hi-ho...it's off to cleanse I go
Date: 3/20/2005 10:36:00 AM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 2405 times Went out last night for a wonderful dinner. Am a huge fan of raw fish, so had melt-in-your mouth yellowtail belly sashimi, along with some seaweedy type of salad. Delish, absolutely yummo! Came home and after I relaxed a bit (couple of hours) I had my Yogi tea and then slept like a baby.
Woke up feeling fairly refreshed and had my SWF. Although it wasn't a treat for my mouth, I didn't gag and got it down fast. It upset my tummy a little, but within approximately 8 minutes, I had to go. SHEEEESSH. I mean GO. Like in A LOT. And then rinse and repeat 2 or 3 more times. It's only been a half hour since I drank it. I kept trying to log on to write in my blog, but then would suddenly HAVE to go.
Had a lovely email from a friend who had done the cleanse 6 months ago. Oddly enough, I had recommended it to him (I had tried it a week before that recommendation but stopped as the caffeine withdrawals were horrid...I hadn't planned that time). Well, he had done so well that when I saw him after he completed it, I was FLOORED. He just looked so great, and I realise it's odd to say that a man was absolutely glowing (sounds so "queer eye for the straight guy"), but I am telling you he was amazing. He literally glowed from within. Well, his email said that after the cleanse he really started eating a LOT of raw foods and lost his taste for sugar and red meat. Said he slept like a baby during the cleanse and actually needed less sleep. He still sleeps that way. His email was so encouraging and supportive that it really was a great thing to read the morning of this first day.
Other friends think I am weird or question why I would "give up so much" when I could just go "have a colonic and be done with it." So hard to explain to people. I actually feel as though I am giving up nothing and gaining a whole lot in the process.
Am going out shopping with a friend. I've had my nose to the grindstone every day this week (including yesterday). I just feel a need to do something innocuous and frivolous and silly. Like shop and giggle with a friend.
More later, or tomorrow...
