Sat Nam means true identity. That we are incarnated in the flesh and have a definite journey to take, we are immortal and spirit or energy.
And we are all one, part and parcel of this energy. It is the beginning of the awakening that we are more than we appear.
We are more than we appear and we have more power at our disposal for creation of our true selves and our true path.
Kundalini Yoga is the pathe of joining "man" with his energetic spiritual nature. I have heard fear and horror stories about this awakening-but a proper preparation and a deep seated respect for the universe and ourselves lays a structure for the process to be undertaken.
Sadhana is a chant and spiritual strengthening of our determination to be happy, healthy, and whole as is our birthright. It takes practice and devotion but the asanas or postures combined with the meditations and chanting all balance our energetic system so we are able to see ourselves the world at large and our families through the light.
I will try and post the music and chant next time out.
Patanjal was a yogi that was enlightened and was blessed with Raj yoga, which was a spirtual yoga that was the progenator of all the yogas. Kundalini and Iyengar are my 2 practices, but I did Hatha for years in the 70's-good exercise and I recommend it to start if all the rest of this seems just too strange.
If you enjoy or want to learn to meditate/chant and this appeals to you, as it does me, then you may want to start one of the more comtemplative yogas. There is something for everyone-if you're a rip snorting physical guy or gal Bikrams will give you a thrill! haha! You'll be worked out-go try it if you like physicality!
It is all there for you, and each and every type of yoga connects the body with the mind for the flow of spirit, inspiration, and energy.
