Plagued by Parasites: Truth or Delusional? Part V
Pork tapeworm, parasite symptoms, Dr. Chung, Dr. Sarah Glover
Date: 5/10/2015 7:19:07 PM ( 9 y ) ... viewed 1736 times I went to Dr. Erika Bradshaw, holistic MD, who put me on antiparasitic herbs, Humaworm, to treat the blastocystis hominis infection. Within a week, I felt worms crawling under my skin. In all my 35yrs, at that point, I had never felt anything so bizarre. I thought it meant that the herbs were working. My husband took pictures of a blood stained "tatoo" of a worm that surfaced on my ankle, as well as what (parasites) exited from my rectum. Humaworm used my images of helminthes for a classroom study session on parasitic infestations; they had asked my permission and I granted it. No muscles fasciculate on the base of one's foot and I had videotaped a worm moving there (seen by Dr. S). Humaworm explained that in heavy infestations parasites flee to the extremities. Dr. Paul (Letter to Dr. S), "tapeworms do not migrate." Dr. Erika Bradshaw, however, said pictures of what I excreted were profound and highly suspect of pork tapeworm. After Humaworm, then C.Diff and steroids, diarrhea lessened. Worms were no longer solely in my gut.
I returned to Dr. Glover and had a small intestine biopsy that revealed non-celiac inflammation (she could not explain that; parasitic) and microscopic colitis (since Feb. 2012). I suspect eosinophils that were once high reduced after the long time parasites in my system dispersed throughout my body from the Humaworm treatment. "The combination of diarrhea or gastrointestinal symptoms and skin eruptions (on my buttocks) is a clue to parasitic infection." (Leighton, MacSween, 1990). The forms of immune impairment that predispose to hyperinfection are varied. Prolonged steroid therapy is a common cause. Epigastric pain, profuse diarrhea, weight loss, nausea, and vomiting, sometimes alternating with constipation are common." A friend recommended I seek the consult of Dr. Chung, Chung Functional Integrative Institute (Moorsetown, NJ). He diagnosed me with tricuria (whipworm) and prescribed Biltricide/Albendazole. Since he was too far from Florida, I found a doctor in Clearwater, FL, Dr. Minkoff (Lifeworks Wellness Center). He diagnosed toxoplasmosis, trichinella, salmonella and treated me with antidiarrheal- activated charcoal.
Dr. Myers wrote, "trying countless approaches to heal your gut and relieve your symptoms without success" is an indication of parasites in a patient. (www.amymyersmd.com/2013/10/10-signs-you-may-have-a-parasite). I used at least thirteen different professionals, both Western medicine and alternative medicine. Dr. Myers also looked for the following factors to be present when assessing patients for parasites. Beside each I describe how my body measured according to the factor noted.
*unable to gain weight: April 2012- 135lbs (postpartum), April 2013- 115lbs, April 2014- 115lbs
*feed off red blood cells causing anemia- yes
*lakes- I grew up on a lake
*parasites travel through the bottom of the feet- always barefoot
*pets- four dogs
*immigrants- Pinellas County, Florida has high number of immigrants. I lived there for 18 years. ("Shaping FL: The Effects of Immigration, 1970-2020", Center for Immigration Studies)
*grinding teeth- Dr. Adam Hahn, dental exam
*unexplained rash- appeared on my buttocks 2009-10, evidenced by dermatologist Dr. Spencer
*undercooked meat, contaminated fruits/vegetables- ingested raw cow colostrum, raw eggs, raw sushi
*door handles, salt shakers, phones- used all of these, as most people do
*fatigue, exhaustion, depression, apathy- experienced since '06
*toxins cause anxiety, interact with neurotoxins, cause mood swings and skin irritation- I have experienced these since '07
"Persons with deficient diets often suffer from polyparasitispolyparasitism." Because of diarrhea I was unable to absorb nutrients (http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/hookworm-infections)
