Appendicitis site pain months after appendectomy
Appendix removal site pain and diarrhea months after appendix has been removed.
Date: 5/28/2013 6:52:58 PM ( 11 y ) ... viewed 9697 times I have found, twice now since having my appendix out three months ago, that I can have severe appendicitis-like pains (intermittent cramps in the area where I had the appendix out), as well as diarrhea.
The first time this happened, I panicked, and thought I might be experiencing "stump appendicitis" - a potentially threatening condition...
But I rode it out, and improved after three days of pain and diarrhea.
Recently it happened again, but I have located the culprit.
The first time it happened I had had a meal at a Chinese restaurant with a lot of chilli in it, so it was hot and spicy. My appendix site went nuts. That happened only 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Then the next time it happened was two days ago, when my husband made rissoles which contained - you guessed it - chilli!
So that must be a definite "trigger" food for me now. I might have to leave off chilli for the rest of the year and see how I go.
Addendum: (I can now eat chilli - 2014)!
