Doctors being forced to reduce prescribed morphine dosages.
Dosages of prescribed morphine are being cut back - for the first time in history!!

It is common knowledge that people who take opiate drugs such as morphine [as prescribed by a doctor, of course] develop a tolerance to it. For example, if a patient is prescribed "60 mgs, three times per day" for a year, the doctor will have to increase that to "90 mgs, three times a day". A small increase once every 6 months to a year has been the standard prescribing practise for 100 years.
Also, obviously, the bigger the dose, the more effective it is. [I am stating these simple, well known facts for a reason that comes clear later on]
If I were to tell you that "taking less morphine is more effective in controlling pain" - would you believe me?
Or how about if I said "taking MORE morphine has less of a painkilling effect" - you would have to say I am being silly, right?
Well, silly is a silly does.... Here is what I am going on about: The College of Physicians and Surgeons in my area is now claiming that "for patients who are prescribed morphine, the most effective dose is 200 mgs. per day, even if you are allready taking 360 mgs per day".
They actually intend to REDUCE the dosages prescribed to a maximum of 200 mgs per day, even for patients who are allready taking MORE than that. I have been prescribed morphine for TWENTY years now... my dose of just under 400 mgs per day is considered very small after that length of time - but they claim I will be better off at 200 mgs a day.
It does not make sense, it is not fact based - this is all about the College being in the pockets of Big Pharma, and Big Pharma wants patients to take more of the drugs that give bigger profits. Along with the reductions in morphine doseages, they recommend that patients be prescribed Gabapentin, Neurontin, SSRIs and other anti-depressants, muscle relaxants, etc etc. They want us hooked on morphine so we keep coming back, but on such small doses that we are squirming in discomfort to the point where we just might agree to take those other, more harmfull, less effective, drugs.
The damning statistic: All "street drug" deaths combined kill 1 person for every 1000 people who die from Pharmaceutical drugs taken as prescribed by a doctor.
I rest my case, the College and Big Pharma, and all who support them, will surely rot in hell.
