DAY 1 30 Day Water Fast
30 day water fast
Date: 10/11/2012 3:39:01 PM ( 12 y ) ... viewed 19435 times I have fasted several times for shorter periods of time. My first fast was a 3 day fast, then I did a 7 day fast, then a 17 day fast. This time I am attempting a 30 day fast in order to cleanse.
My initial starting weight before I started fasting was 315 pounds.
My current weight is 265 pounds.
I have lost a total of 50 pounds by eating right and following the Canada Food Guide. However, at the beginning, I was having a lot of trouble dieting because of my food cravings. I was having pain in my knees and back which made me think exercising would kill me (I was wrong).
So, I did a 3 day fast, and lost 6 pounds. I felt really good and wanted to do it again because I found that it helped with my binging appetite cravings. It reduced my appetite and gave me hope. So next, I did a 5 day fast, with a loss of 14 pounds. Then I ate right and started exercising. I began by walking a mile. I made myself go a mile, even if it meant resting inbetween.
Then I did a 17 day fast and lost 30 pounds!! Afterwards, I ate mostly raw food, used a juicer to drink fruit juice and stayed away from dairy products. I was amazed because after the fast was over, dairy products turned my stomach when normally I love cheese and milk etc. Red meat also turned my stomach. So I ate chicken, fish, eggs, vegetables and fruit. I continued to drink lots of water and did not consume any caffeine. I found that my appetite was manageable and I had more energy for exercise.
By this time I was walking 6 km per day in a loop, so that if I go half way I might as well go the rest!! haha
Now, I am 50 pounds down, jogging 6 km., 5 days per week and eating right. The pain in my knees and back is gone and due to the fasting, inbetween the dieting, I have no stretch marks or sagging skin!!! WOW.
However, I am on a plateau and am beginning to feel like I need another cleanse. So I am going on a 30 day fast!! The only reason I will cut my fast short is if I experience extreme hunger, or my physician advises me to stop. Exteme hunger during a fast (after day 5) is the bodies way of telling you that your cleanse is over.
I will be documenting my progress and weighing in each day so that other people know what to expect. I am under the care of a physician who is monitoring my blood pressure and heart rate. During my 17 day fast, my resting pulse was 45! This is also due to my running however.
Starting Fast weight 265 beginning tomorrow, October 12, 2012.
