C02 Emissions - where do they come from?
Tailpipes are the biggest source of CO2 emissions

Many of the main spokespeople and leaders against climate change due to global warming are screaming about the Tar Sands in Albera as being a huge source of CO2 emissions.
They will take that argument to their grave, and to hearings and use it in submissions to regulators.
When the Oil Heads point out that they are wrong, and give the facts to prove it, the public will doubt that the environmentalists have any good points, and public support for emissions reductions will be lost.
Sadly, it appears to be a matter of ego.
The Tar Sands are a terrible thing, but CO2 emissions are not the worst problem there.
Where do CO2 emissions REALLY come from?
As for the "single-source" industrial plants, it is South Africa, Taiwan, Poland, India... The Tar Sands ranks somewhere close to 20th place!!
But even added together, all those big CO2 producing operations only account for about 15% of CO2 emissions globally.
It is our vehicles. THAT is the source of global warming.
85% of CO2 emissions from each barrel of oil produced comes from tailpipes.
Ask this question:
"of the TOTAL GLOBAL CO2 emissions, approximately what percentage comes from tailpipes?"
The fact of the matter is that drivers are not being given a choice but to use fossil fuels.
I am still waiting for my electric car, they are being sold now but the waiting lists are all full, and they are far more expensive than they need to be.
India and China both produce a $10,000 EV. Why not here? It is being kept from us.
And there are other options too... we need to put our focus on changing over to non fossil fuel burning transportation.
Perhaps the solution to global warming is a general strike, one that shuts the economy down, with the sole demand of being given a choice to buy and use a non-CO2 producing vehicle [not including manufacturing, etc].
Either that, or quit driving. I only drive 10,000 kms [6000 miles] per year... that is a hint - cutting down that much would help, most people drive more than 40,000 km. per year.
We need choices, and many of us would choose to save the world from the ravages of runaway global warming.
