Day 13
Describing cravings for rich meats...
Date: 2/1/2011 3:15:49 PM ( 13 y ) ... viewed 27048 times I spoke with my good friend last night who is trained in wholistic nutrition and mentioned my lack of weight loss. She asked if I have been craving fats, and I told her about my wanting olive oil. She explained that our bodies need fats - good fats - which include coconut butter and olive oil. She said what is most likely going on is my body is freaking out that it is not getting any good fats, so it is holding on to the bad fats. She suggested going ahead and having some olive oil and see what happens, which I did last night. So far, there has been a .2lb reduction within the 12 hours of eating it and weighing myself the following morning. It could just be water weight. We shall see.
I am feeling great. I was craving meat yesterday. Big, juicy, rare steaks, 3" thick pink-in-the-middle hamburgers, chili dogs, corn dogs, KFC chicken skin, Pizza Hut deep dish meat lovers pizza with cheese in the crust, even elk! (It's no wonder I used to be 200lbs.) My friend just laughed and said, "Are we having a detox?" :) The cravings are over thankfully.
I feel really good. My energy is way up. My fuse is a little shorter than normal. My face is really starting to break out. I reek of vegetable broth at one point, and then I smell like maple syrup the other times. Mmmm...maple syrup. I do miss eating. I miss the experience, the rapture of savouring each bite. But I am not hungry. I know I didn't experience true hunger until I was on day 38 of my first fast. It was an eye opening lesson about my eating habits.
Until tomorrow.
