COUNT DOWN: 2 days until beginning of my water fast!

My day has been doing better. I have been telling myself that I have the will power to overcome any urges to eat unhealthy foods as well as wanting to comfort myself with eating as well. I think it is natural for me to seek comfort food, as it has been a taught behavior in my family. I remember when I was 16 years old when I had just came back home from a 17 hour ride of a greyhound bus from my father's. It was 2 a.m. And when my mother got me home, she stuffed with full of food, as I was dehydrated and hungry as well as she was just happy to have me home. She feed me peek and eat shrimp, and other good food. In my house, food was a major thing, which was enjoyed in on birthdays, St. Patrick's day, Easter, and all the other major holidays, as well as when one was sick, stressed out and upset.

I have been stressed out and upset regarding P. moving out and I have been very careful about what I have been eating, as I want to eat more and more, to comfort myself, as I have no comfort at this time. I am trying to not make food my source of comfort.

MY FOOD LOG FOR YESTERDAY: October 28, 2010

LUNCH: Homemade Blue cheese hamburger: (Ground beef (2 ounces -234 calories), hamburger bun (120 Calories), blue cheese crumbles (1 ounce-100 calories), Onion slices (16 calories), Tomatoes (8 calories) Lettuce (2 calories) ):480 calories; Homemade fried potato chips, 250 calories. TOTAL:730 calories

I did better at cutting down the calorie count. I also drank 12 ounces of water before I ate my meal. As well as I drank another 8 ounces after wards. I was floating!

BEFORE DINNER SNACK: Triscuit Cracked Pepper and Olive oil crackers, 120 calories and Philadelphia Chives and Onion cream cheese, 100 calories. TOTAL 220 calories

DINNER: Stuffed Chicken Breast, 240 calories. TOTAL: 240 calories

It was a huge piece of chicken that I didn't eat all of it. I ate about the correct portion, as there was at least two portions there. I did eat all the stuffing that was between them. I saved the chicken and will probably eat it tonight with some leafy greens for dinner.

MY TOTAL CALORIES FOR OCTOBER 28, 2010: 1,190 Calories.

I did well, as my daily calorie count per day is only 1,782. I am improving and watching more carefully. I have noticed it I figure out what I am going to eat first and check the calorie count, then I am able to watch my calories better.

Last night I enjoyed the company of my bf's son, P.J. We talked about books, movies and even pitted my lovable Mekong to come to the one she loved the most. Of course, I know she loves the both of us, as we both pick her up and pet her and in her book, that is all she ever wants. LOL

I am trying to keep myself busy, not focusing on sadness or other emotions that might cause me to want to emotionally eat. I finished one of my books, I was reading. The Magician's Nephew by C. S. Lewis. I know only have 4 more books to finish by Sunday night to make my goal of reading 10 books in the month of November. These are the books that I have read so far:

The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown (Finished October 1, 2010)

Constantine by John Shirley (Finished October 19, 2010)

The Spiderwick Chronicles Book one (Finished October 24, 2010)

The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman(Finished October 25,2010)

A Series of Unfortunate Events The Wide Window by Lemony Snicket (Finished October 27, 2010)

The Magician's Nephew by C. S. Lewis (Finished October 28, 2010)

I am currently reading these books now (when I have a bit of time, here and there)

Shadowfae by Erica Hayes

The Quest for answers: The Davinci Code by Josh McDowell (almost finished)

Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis (almost finished)

Alive in the Last days of Pompeii by Alan Lloyd

Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown

I am definitely keeping myself busy mentally with books. LOL

I took a nice hot shower and thought about what I am grateful for as well as went over some of my positive affirmations.

MY DAILY GRATEFUL LIST:

1.I am grateful that I have a very supportive mother that reassures me that I am a good person, when I feel horrible, and that I might not be.

2.I am grateful that I am aware of what I need to change in my life and that I am motivated enough to change things in order to make my life better.

3.I am grateful for loving cats that give me affection and make me feel loved when I feel it is lacking in places in my life.

4.I am grateful that I am educated and I can read for pleasure, as I know that many people in the world can't not read or struggle with reading.

5.I am grateful for the little bit of time I am able to spend with my boyfriend's son, before they leave. I enjoy sharing and learning things from such an intelligent young man. It is a blessing in my life, as I have no children of my own.

MY FOOD LOG FOR OCTOBER 29, 2010:

BREAKFAST: Wheat English muffin, 59 calories, cooked egg whites, 17 calories; slices of green pepper, 7 calories; 4 leaves of Spinach, 8 calories; black olives, 25 calories, a tiny squirt of Chipotle sauce, 45 calories; sprinkle of Oregano ( 161 calories each. I had two of these delicious things) TOTAL: 322 calories

Drank 20 ounces of water with my breakfast

LUNCH: 2 piece of Digiorno Cheese stuffed crust supreme pizza, 700 calories and a sliced apple, 35 calories. TOTAL:735 calories

Drank 16 ounces of water with my lunch

I planned my dinner to be the following:

DINNER: 3 cups of Fresh Express Spring Mix, 20 calories, skinless chicken breast, 50 calories, splash of vinegar TOTAL: 70 calories

CALCULATED FINAL TOTAL: 1,127 calories (Hopeful, if I eat what I have planned to eat, without any snacks. I might add an sliced apple which will only make the different of 35 added calories - still within my range!)

So, my daily calories would be: 1,127 calories – well, within my daily 1,782 calorie intake. Yay! I am doing better. I am planning on reading a lot of leafy greens and finishing off the beans and rice tomorrow, so that I can't start my Water fast on Sunday. Wish me luck!

It is really cold today, so I will have to bundle up to do my 30 minute walk today. Yesterday I didn't walk or do any exercise. I am working on setting up some little “exercise routine” that I can do in my living room. My idea so far is to do Jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, run in place, boxing moves (shadow boxing) Jog in place (maybe a warm up exercise) and running in place. I might add a couple more, but I wanted something I could easily do in my living in 30 minutes, if the weather is bad. I might try it out today if I don't do my 30 minute walk.

Oh, I haven't done any Bible reading yet, but tonight I will try to start. I have to figure out what I want to focus on. Maybe fasting, healthy living, maybe even Proverbs 31? I don't know. I will have to work on that tonight, when I open it up.

LOL! So much to do.
