Sea Green Mermaid Miso Soup
When I made my first bowl of this soup I kept thinking, "No. No way this will taste good, putting all these algaes in here. Too healthy to taste good." What was I thinking?! Whoa -- SUPER healthy + SUPER delicious = TURNS ME ON...!
Date: 1/27/2010 7:43:40 PM ( 14 y ) ... viewed 2444 times I think I will call this SEA GREEN MERMAID MISO SOUP -- A sea mineral RUSH...~!
I thought this was not going to taste good but I had to try it -- and it tastes great!!
Miso soup with
1/2 tsp. each of spirulina, bluegreen algae and chlorella,
plus the usual things I like to add:
pressed fresh garlic (optional but I do 2 cloves, lol)
1 to 2 tsp. of hemp (or olive) oil
2-3 TBL organic frozen green peas which I add to the water heating in the pan
I use 2 parts red miso (Miso Master Organic) from the refrigerator section to 1 part Eden Organic Hacho Miso (aged 3 years, dark brown, great for winter but pasteurized so that's why I don't use as much of the Hacho):
1 TBL or more of Red Miso
1 tsp. or more of Hacho Miso
This is for a bowl that holds at least 2 cups of water, so it could be a recipe for one bigger bowl of soup or two smaller bowls of soup.
Oh, and I also added some soaked arame seaweed. That was the last of my arame. Usually I like to use wakame but was just out of that. Wakame from Maine Coast Sea Vegetables due tomorrow.
I had THREE bowls of this today. I kid you not...!!! Between this and my Ocean's Alive marine phytoplankton and KriaXanthin Antarctic krill oil (had 3 capsules today) I'm really getting sea-mineraled-up. What, am I turning into a mermaid or something?!
What I do is mix the miso SLOWLY with the some heated water as the rest of the water is heating in a saucepan. I never put the miso into the saucepan. I just keep slowly adding and stirring all the ingredients leaving the peas and rest of the hot-to-the-touch pure (preferably living spring) water for last. A nearly hot yet basically raw soup as well.
Made my toes tingle...!!! Proof I'm still a biped. (If I were REALLY a mermaid it would have made my tail curl and unfurl, no doubt!)
Apologies this is not in regular recipe format. I actually wrote this as a quick note for my Facebook -- but then it was too long to put on Facebook so I'm bringing it over here!~
A long day, the best day ever, but rushed, so I'm cheating and not reformatting this but if you like miso soup I think you will love this!!
Thanks for reading, and have the Best Day EVER...!

UPDATE: If it ever comes out too thin in flavor it's kind of a hassle sometimes to mix in more miso and what I do is just add wheat-free (non-raw) tamari sauce or Nama Shoyu to taste. The flavor blends in perfectly!!
