Early Taste Tests of my Cacao Ca-Coffee Thumbs Up!
Meandering thoughts in raw-raw land after a long day...

Yesterday a friend came by and I offered her some of the healing tea that tastes like a mellow cacao coffee. She drank a cup and told me it made her feel high!
Then today another friend came by (who is not into raw foods at all) and at first she demured on trying it until I mentioned that it tasted like coffee. She had a cup and was going on and on about how great it was and said I could sell it. Pretty good!
Meanwhile, I have been emptying my coffers in my relentless effort to really go full throttle into the super healthy and superfood lifestyle: getting a 316 Ti (titanium) Saladmaster pot this week. Also ordered 3 to 5 different kinds of seaweeds from Maine Coast Sea Vegetables. I have ordered from them a few times before and man it's amazing how much seaweed you get when you order a pound of something! This time I ordered several kinds of seaweed in flake form rather than whole form (as long as they were raw) because I figure I am more likely to eat it more often that way -- especially in my winter miso soups (which I heat but keep raw -- and yes, miso is a cooked food but is made live again by the beneficial bacteria and I get the organic kind so I feel fine about it!).
What else? Let's see...I finally broke down and ordered a package of camu camu berry powder. I really want to try some of the serious ways to get the neurological thing going good with the omega-3's. I'm planning to take krill oil with camu camu berry and a little MegaHydrate in the water (to help drive it in). I may even get it together to get some hemp seed oil to go in that mix. I'm in the mood for omega-3s and big-time!!!
Was listening to an interview with David "Avocado" Wolfe today talking about how diabetes type 2 is not so much a disease as it is the body calling out to a person, (paraphrasing loosely here), "Hey, I've HAD IT. NO MORE JUNK FOOD. I'm sick as heck and I'm not gonna TAKE it anymore!!!" Whoa!! That sounded SO much like ME...! I never got myself tested for type 2 diabetes but that fits me and my body SO WELL. I'm 56 years old and I spent a good 35-40 of those years (or more) eating "nutritional holocaust" type foods and my body starting going TILT over 20 years ago. It gives me a little leeway from time to time, but not that much. My body WANTS me to eat healthy and raw in a big way. Oh, it doesn't mind the occasional steamed veggies or more healthy kind of foods, but that's not the nutritional profile of my "dark side." It's more like JUNK FOOD.
I mean, once I am not eating raw it's like something in my goes, "GANGWAY!!!! Where's the Junk Food?! Let me at it!!!" Yes, it is rather alarming -- but it's always been this way about as long as I can remember. And that's one of the reasons raw eating is such a HUGE saving grace for me. It's the only way I can eat that doesn't trigger that crazy-maker appetite in me. I'm hoping that one day I'll starve out that thing well and long enough that it will leave me alone, but I'm not going to spend to much time worrying about it. I'm just going to keep my eyes on the prize and plug ahead!!!
Wishing you the best day ever!!
