Crop Circles 2009
Yes, they are still appearing - at a rate of two or three a week, sometimes a few in one night. Mostly in England, but a few elsewhere too. They seem to be more artistic than before, and even a few that are square now.
The mystery is no closer to being solved. There hasn't been anyone spotted doing them, no definitive alien or UFO contacts.
It would just about as startling to find out humans ARE making them, with the intricate weaves and quickness that the circles appear. There were two small ones by themselves this year, dubbed "Tweedledum" and "Tweedledee", which are just a simple circle with a little tuft in the centre, and even these two are representitive of the great mystery of crop circles because of the way the stalks are bent so accurately and so on. And yes, there are still the "energy signatures" in the stalk nodes that are not known anywhere else on earth.
So it really is amazing. Still. And still a mystery. Crop Circles hold as much interest and appeal for me as do the stars when I gaze up at them on summer's nights. I spend about 15 minutes almost every night just looking up, watching for something, waiting, like a sentinal - I do it because I think that someone should, but also to keep my imagination, my "mystery quotient" going strong as I age... something people often lose after their teenaged years... if today's teenagers still have that?
The stars are so far away, and the patterns we see are an illusion of course - like the Big Dipper - it's stars are variously far away and some are close, but the differences in their brightness make them appear to be lined up like that... but only as we see them from Earth. Just coincidence. Some people say nothing is coincidence, I disagree, I think a lot of things are, and we just place some meaning to them and declare it a work of God. Pffffttt, I don't believe.
Crop Circles, however, are no coincidence, it is not an illusion. They are detailed designs, perfectly laid out - how can they be so consistent when they happen in 5 minutes, with no activity, and no lights [other than those little blue orbs that are occasionally seen near where Crop Circles appear]? And why only in grain fields? And how? And why now? By what forces - surely there is an intelligence... or maybe not, since they are all "sacred geometry" that does occur in nature...
Some deep thinkers have drawn up "meanings" for most of the ones that appear in England; detailed analysis of the relationships between sizes and numbers of circles, and how those numbers relate to stars, or the Sun, the planets, and sometimes mythology. The conclusions are things like "the Sun is going to start acting dramatically different for a few days in 2011", and "there will be a birth when the planets line up in 2012", and so on. Most of it is beyond my pale abilities to understand, but there is a logic in it.
What I take from Crop Circles in 2009 is that "they are still happening, they are still one of the greatest mysteries of all time, and there is a progression". Those make it worth keeping an eye on. I save a picture of every new one as they come out, pictures I get from "The Crop Circle Connector" website. Like stargazing, I hope that someday something will pop out at me and I will have seen a new beginning for the human race. A sign!! - that what crop circles are, they are a sign that says "stay tuned".
