Muslims and non Muslims have been living in harmony for thousands of years. We as Muslims respect all religions and respect all races. Muslims study the Quran, Bible and Torah. Where Christians study the Bible and Jews study the Torah. Most Muslims have a thorough knowledge of all religions from Latter Day Saints (Mormons) to Jewish People.

Prophet Mohammad was the best of all of Allah's creation and he taught us to be kind to everyone.

Even if they abuse us we must be kind. We are kind to our neighbors and our employers and they may not be Muslims. When I was in America, I owned my own Real Estate Business and there I learned that my business depended not on how people treated me, but on how much I feared Allah. Allah is in charge of our life today, tomorrow and forever.

We are sad and angry to see how Muslims are treated all over the world, but the difference with Muslims is that we do not attack and riot, we boycott foods such as Danish cheese. Boycott is a peaceful way to protest. Once 3 men tried to kill me in America. Because I am Muslim and I sought shelter in JC Penneys and a woman helped me. I never thought of hurting them in return, because it is not part of my religion.

Whatever Allah is happy with, I am happy with. No matter what happens in this life, Allah has decided. So as I see many Christians, Jews and Athiest, I must be kind to them. I say hello and yes I have one woman who cuts my hair and she is a Christian. I will tell you, she is the best hairdresser in Jordan. Her name is Susan and she is kind and gracious to me, so I am the same to her.

On this first day of Ramadan, I can only feel happiness for the friends I have made over the years. I do not remember those who hurt and harmed me. I remember how Allah save me from the hellfire, by making me Muslim. I remember how Allah allowed me to hijrah to Jordan, but I have forgotten the ones who harmed me.

No one can go to heaven and pass over the bridge who is angry with anyone. So in Islam we can only stay angry for 3 days and then we must forgive. Forgiveness is better, don't you see. I have so many stories to tell and so many good and bad things, but on this day I can only remember Allah's mercy. Can I get along with non Muslims, yes of course I can. I love everyone and that is how it should be. We as Muslims must love our brothers and sisters and especially our neighbors.

The neighbor has many rights upon us and we must be kind to 7 neighbors. The hadith or sayings of our Prophet does not say Muslim neighbors, it says neighbors.

Allah's Messenger said, "Let the believer in Allah and Day of Judgment either speak good or keep silent. Let the believer in Allah and Day of Judgment honor his neighbor. Let the believer in Allah and the day of judgment honor his guest." Muslim and Bakhari

There will always be wars and there will always be fighting somewhere in the world. There is pain everywhere, but how I treat another Muslim or non Muslim has nothing to do with war, it has to do with what I am told. Who can go to heaven? The one who submits. What does submit mean? The one who follows what their prophet told them to do. I am submitting on this day, are you?
