Kentucky is so beautiful and so green It is the green belt sate and when we have to choose the best places to live, it would take hours. So I will choose a few cities that are wonderful, safe and places that I know well. I was born and raised in Kentucky, so I have a lot of knowledge of Kentucky. Kentucky is most famous for the Kentucky Derby. The Derby which comes once a year and whose glamour is not seen again in any state.

The Kentucky Derby, a site worth seeing. So is all of Kentucky as beautiful, you might ask? Well for me the answer is yes, but maybe I am fibbing just a bit.
My favorite place to live in Kentucky, is my home city of Alexandria. It is 8 minutes from the border of Kentucky and Ohio and a hop and skip from Cincinnati. It has major highways, coming through the town and is just so countrified, that you will want to take your shoes off and run through the green fields. I use to live on Old State Road #3, so if you want to check my old hangout out, go over there. I dream of those days often and sure do miss the old home front. Alexandria is the country seat and I went to Campbell County High School, graduated in 1971, in case anyone still remembers me.
Another great place to live is Fort Thomas. It is the home of St. Luke's Hospital, where my sister was born and one of my favorite bakeries, Wiedeman's bakery. Whenever it was my birthday, my mom would go to Wiedeman's and buy me a cake. They are so delicious. Many hills in Fort Thomas and a really lovely view from all sides.
One of the busiest cities and one of the closest to Cincinnati airport is a city called Florence. It is centrally located and a hop and a skip from the Dayton Airport. The Dayton Airport is in Kentucky, but it is called the Cincinnati Airport. Now go figure that one out.
The Derby is in Louisville, but Louisville is very busy and very metropolitan. If you are looking for large cities, Louisville is very good and so is Lexington. Lexington would be my favorite, over Louisville as Lexington is much more beautiful, layed back and not so busy. Here is a site showing tons of information, about Lexington. It is so beautiful you will just fall in love with the city.

Very close to Lexington is a town called Paris. It is the home of many horse ranches, where they hold prize stallions and these horses live better than the President. I have seen some of these "so called" barns and they have gold and brass, that line the walls and they are a sight to be held. The workers of this area, are provided a free home, to live right there on the ranch.
Georgetown, the home of Georgetown college, is also very beautiful and gentile.

These are a few of my favorite places to live in Kentucky. I have been to them all and I have loved them so much. I miss Kentucky, as it is a very simple place. A very nice community of down home folks and a state of many horse farms. A drive through Paris and Lexington and on to Louisville would be better than any trip you can imagine. Then you can drive down through to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Good schools, fabulous food and safe communities, now what more could you ask than that?
