The brain fog is the worse with Alzheimer's and no matter how we try to focus, it is very difficult. Trying to explain to family members, what we are going through is very difficult as we cannot think about 1 minute from now, much less how we felt for the last ten minutes. Trying to concentrate enough, to remember to turn off the water or remembering if we prayed or not, is increasingly difficult.
So as the dementia increases, we look for something to alleviate the stress.
As I play games, I get excited with the thought of winning. This way I am concentrating more on the game and less on me. For our brains work fine as long as we do not have to talk. It is the acutal speech that slows us down. So, as I sit quietly playing my games and concentrating, the fog lifts and I feel much better.
1. My absolute favorite game is Shockwave Joker poker. It is fun and relaxing and maybe seeing the cards go very fast, makes my brian work better. I just love when the joker shows up and I get excited when I am close to wining the "big one."
2. My second favorite game is Bookworm. As the burning tiles come down and I am forced, to come up with a word immediately or lose, I scramble for the most fun.
3. My third favorite game is Jewel Deluxe. It is fun and very colorful and very relaxing.
4. My fourth favorite game is solitaire. There is nothing more relaxing than solitaire.
5. My fifth favorite game is bubble shooter. This is a kind of laid back game and still fun.
It has been proven that one of the best ways to keep the mind occupied is with learning a new language. So if you get bored with playing games, then you can learn a new language. Really anything that causes you to think is good.
The last thing that I do for fun and brain empowerment, is search the internet. This is the latest news, that anyone who searches for information on the internet, will increase their brain health. Not idle junk looking, but researching educational facts.
There is noting more scary than losing your abiliity to think and comprehend. There is nothing more scary than not being able to talk. All the research in the world cannot make a person understand what it is like, unless they walk in our shoes. I remember sitting on a sidewalk in town and not knowing where I was. It was frightening and it was awful. People came by and asked if I needed help, but really they were shocked. I remember crying and telling people I did not know where I was. One kind man told me how to get home and then I felt safe.
I am well now and I survived but, for many who are sick and feel all alone, there is hope for tomorrow and you can be well with a natural diet. May Allah bless you and grant you wellness and much fun playing lots of games.
