 I am so passionate about Ramadan and I hope by the end of this article you will be too. Jordan is a very small country and we are very, very poor. But during Ramadan, we are the richest nation in the world. Everyone is trying to out do everyone in charity and we are all rushing to help our neighbor, invite our friends to break the fast and about who is reading the most of the Glorious Quran. Traditions in countries I am not so worried about, but I am concerned about who loves Allah the most. As I go to taraweed prayers, I look around to see who the Angels are blessing tonight. I look to see who rushes towards the Mosque to please Allah and I look for who will be beside me in prayers. People run to be beside me, as I am a Muslim convert for some 16 years now. I love Allah more than most, but he knows that, doesn't he? I love him more than you or your neighbor, but then he knows that doesn't he? I am probably the most excited person in the whole world right now, but he knows that. You must think I have everything and I am so lucky, but that is not the case. My husband died 7 years ago, I live alone with no family, I am extremely poor and don't know how I will pay my rent, but I am just so excited. I can't wait for Laylat Al-Qadr and I can't wait to see the sky painted so beautiful. I can't wait to see the sun as it rises without any rays and I just am so excited, just so excited. I feel I am going to bust from excitement and I just want you to see my heart right now. Indeed , I love Allah the most. Don't you agree? Ramadan is not about the month, or the moon or the sky. It is about Allah's mercy and his forgiveness. Ramadan is about so much more, but it is more than reading Quran and it is much more than the prayers. Ramadan is about mercy and generosity. Allah will watch each one of us to see how we spend our time and our money. He will ask each one of us about our charity. Yes, even though I am poor I give charity too, as it is required.
