Starting Over......Day 1

I am so disappointed in myself. I had completely forgotten before starting my fast that yesterday I had a previous dinner engagement with my husbands family. I went to the restaurant yesterday with the thought that I was just going to have a glass of water. I tried to do just that but when I had got there I found that the food had been pre ordered and already paid for by my husbands parents.I was pressured into eating it. I was upset but I didn't want to be rude, so I had to eat some of it. I couldn't tell everyone I was fasting or anything because they would take it the wrong way. Needless to say I am now having to restart my 30 day fast. I have made sure that I have no other dinner engagements for the next 30 days. And I have come up with a few excuses if I run into that type of problem again (hopefully I wont). While I am greatly disappointed at the same if it had to happen , I'm glad this happened just a few days into the fast rather then much later. So, here we go once again. This time I will be sure not to fail my fast. Aug 16th-Sept 15th is the length of my new fast.

I also want to add for those of you considering a fast and its your first time. I have fasted for short periods of time in the past but the longest has been 14 days for religious purposes. This is my first long fast but I must say I thinks its important to be well prepared for your fast and have a plan. I am actually making sure that this time around I have everything in order. And its my own fault for needing to start over because in reality I should had double checked my prior engagements before starting my fast. Anyways, that is it.
