Taking part in the sin
Would we be listening to gossip if we knew we would be punished for that sin.
Date: 3/8/2009 7:45:15 AM ( 15 y ) ... viewed 1410 times One of the teachings of Islam is that if a person is committing a sin and you agree with him or help him, then you are in sin with him.
So for the couple who committed suicide, if it is a sin and I believe it to be, then all those who aided him would be in sin also. The same goes for gossip. If a woman comes to you and states that she has a boyfriend and he is married which means it is adultery and we say, "Don't worry, he is cute." then we are guilty of the sin also. So both my friend and I are included in the adulterous acts.
The people in hellfire have blood emitting from their bodies and this blood and puss is dripping down to a lower part of hellfire and there the people who made scandal mongering on earth live. Now the people of this lower hell remain there until the people they made scandal against forgive them.
Complicated not really. Here is the story. If you backbite against your neighbor you will spend some time in hellfire but if what you say is true than it is scandal mongering.
So lets say that we say George Bush is a pig, this is not really true but this is backbiting. But if we said, "Can you believe how many people died in Iraq because of George Bush" this is scandal mongering. The later fact is true and therefore we are spreading evil gossip.
So it becomes a problem on the internet. When we go to debate forums are we backbiting according to religious beliefs. I am afraid I would be guilty of this for sure.
We tend to talk of worldly matters and the ways of the world but sometimes we should remain quiet. But by remaining quiet are we getting the message out, this is a problem. I find it is my mission in life to tell the problems of Palestine and Afghanistan my true love.
I find many times on my forum a friend speaks and I do not want to offend that friend so I remain quiet or agree when I really should tell the truth. I want to have a happy forum but by not telling the truth are we deceiving the masses.
My religion is straight with no wavering as far as what we believe in. When I became Muslim I loved the straight forwardness of the religion. Such as if you commit adultery you will go to the hellfire. If you steal, you will go to the hellfire. So many times when we write to one another in pm's we are talking about other members who offend us, is this backbiting? For sure.
So as we take part in the sin, should we not think twice. Should we not be careful who we are trusting with our mistakes. lol. I am on my soapbox again.
God bless us all and may be do more good deeds on this earth and work for the next life always.
Allah forgive both me and you of what sins we have committed and the ones we will commit.
