"Another father's Day has passed,
and 06-15-08 is history.
I thank you for your letter.
Most of all, I thank you for your choice in contributing to our relationship.
There's nothing more valuable to me, then what you have chosen in sharing your superior P & L (Peace and Love).
A person doesn't always see it
and once you're a part of P&L - you feel it.
On your recent visit (here) none - I repeat none of your time (in my opinion was wasted. Always remember papa tells and shares his truthful experiences, opinions, options and wisdom which blessed him with continuous time to share with special people that can continue to plant seeds in future gardens of happy life. In the global hopes of people awaiting a Messiah, a Buddha or a Christ these hopes can be supported in many ways. Presentation, listening, patience, accepting difference and the wisdom to know that many alternatives do not work for everyone. The results change to positive when & where a person begins to feel the connection of their faith.
I realize what a tremendous responsibility you and your mother under took. Your mother let me be reminded that she had health problems of her own and also had her limitations. I choose to not go over the past other than continue to learn from what's difficult to forget.
Re: Your statement, "Mom mentioned that you (papa John) were not sticking with your diet too well" this is another area that I am challenged with in my behavior modification and positive re-hab for my future.
Your priority on nutrition was accepted & respected by me. I was able in sharing my commitments with (mom). I'm unable (& accept) that I can not make certain changes living (where I am) w/o mom's approval. To follow Chef Jem completely, one refrig w freezer is not enough. We'd have to purchase another freezer. Then with the annual monsoon and electric outages a risk of loosing quality. The shipments that give us long-term inventory are not our choice for the future. We have too much inventory and we both feel uncomfortable.
Another reason for not embracing your Chef Jem program entirely is the expense. Until more of the demand of most all the products, the suppliers have no reason to reduce cost. Places like Asia, Mexico, Europe will find ways to get part of this business which has an excellent future. Your mother is my life partner and I choose to make that my #1 priority.
Your nutritional program is more than I choose to handle in it's entire (too much) form. Dr. Cowan showed understanding on coconut. He no longer emphasizes that, as his dedication is to accept & help where he can. I'm comfortable with that flavor of help at this time in my journey.
Since I have no desire to qualify as "Mr. Mom" I prefer to be Papa John.
During your visit, you and I did not make the Chef Jem dedication our entire priority. I succeeded in identifying more of myself (past & present) to you then anyone B/4 you. That takes a lot of faith & trust for someone with my background.
Since we mutually benefited, I'm happy to know I have an eternal P & L (Peace and Love) mutual relationship with my soul mate, first born, person embraced with love ... I love you - forever. Papa J
P.S. Plan for potluck with Nevada Steve."

"Papa John" is now in San Diego with his life partner and fully supported by the community's food service where they live. I have accepted their choice. If I could I would recommend bone medicine in the form of old fashioned bone broth for "Dojo" who had been diagnosed with osteoporosis and who had suffered a fracture earlier this year on her tail bone. My brother had been preparing soup with bones back when they were all living together in Arizona. Now that is history. I don't know the extent of real bone broth that they may be getting from the food service at their new location. Naturally I'd be keeping them well stocked (no pun intended) if it were my kitchen! ; - )
