Intro, Days 1-3
Date: 3/13/2008 9:52:59 AM ( 16 y ) ... viewed 1325 times So, here I am on my third day of juice fasting. I have a strength much higher than the last time I tried this. That was two and a half weeks ago...I made it to day 9 and felt compelled to eat. I am back on track.
Basically I decided to write a blog because reading others has helped me to be strong. I thank everyone who has written a blog about fasting - whether it be juice, water or MC - it has truly helped in my dedication to improving my health.
REASONS FOR FASTING:
1. Need to be healthy.
2. Lose weight.
3. Prepare my body for having a baby. I want to rid my body of all toxins before trying to conceive.
4. Become closer to my faith...to receive direction
HARDEST PART SO FAR:
My husband and I are the type to come home after a long day and have a glass of wine or a beer. We weren't always this way - and we don't do this every night - but it is too much and we know it. The hardest part is not having a glass of wine and chilling out. It isn't hard for me to cook his dinner, I rather enjoy cooking and I find that the smells don't hinder my progression but help. It is satisfying for whatever reason.
My husband is very supportive of my venture and even has stated he might start the fast/cleanse next week. I think it would make it easier for me to have that accountability.
So, I need help and hints from all of those who have mastered the art of fasting. I am not willing to not complete my goal this time.
PLAN:
Goal - Fast for at least 21 days. I feel this is the next to optimal length of fast, but I do have every intention of making it to 30 days.
Goal - Fast on juices for 3 days, then transition to water by way of MC and vegetable broth.
Please be thinking about me in my journey, and again, if you have any suggestions or comments please do not hesitate to let me know. I have an open mind.
PS - I will keep you updated on my weight loss for those that are interested. I am a size 12, and after just two and a quarter days, I already feel much lighter and am filled with energy. I do work out - or at least try to consistently. So far on my fast:
Day 1: 50 minutes of walking/running
Day 2: 45 minutes of walking/jogging/running
I normally have a juice for breakfast, juice for lunch and vegetable broth in the evening. I supplement myself with water and herbal tea to keep hunger at bay - at least the first few days.
I promise my blogs wont normally be this long. I just feel it is nice to have an idea of the person you are reading about.
