Day 8 - Discover Your Relationship With Food

Feel like I have really adjusted to this new routine. The juices are very satisfying and I don't have the physical feeling of hunger however have learned that physical hunger and "mindsight" hunger are two different things. I think the "minds" perspective makes you examine your relationship with food and I have found this quite interesting. For me - I grew up in an Italian large family where food and eating is a big part of life. In Italian culture food is a big deal, meals are events and fortunately the diet is on the healthy-side. Fresh fruits and vegtables, simply prepared. Most people think of the American-Italian food - pizza, pastas with cream sauce etc. - but real Italian food is quite different. Anyways what I have found is that this fasting has temporarily changed some of my social and family habits - which has somewhat played out as a larger challenge in my mind rather than the physical.
I would say for anyone thinking of fasting just for weight loss reasons - you will certainly be brought face to face with your relationship with food and beyond the achieved weight loss you will begin to understand your own eating dynamics. I think that this is a positive things - as for someone that yo-yo diets will be able to come to terms with some of their root causes.
Today's Intake:
- Watermelon (great!)
- Celery, Carrot, Cabbage, Beets (good)
- Celery, Carrot, Cabbage, Romaine Lettuce (good)
Today's Output:
- I am going to the bathroom #1 like every 3-4 hours, urine is clear, no odor
- #2 Twice, Normal
Today's Physical Outlook:
- Continue to have low BMR (temp and blood pressure) especially right after taking the green juices.
Today's Mental Outlook:
- The spiritual mind is happy and is compassionate as the physical body goes through this process.
- Relationship with food is beginning to unfold
- Food cravings continue to come and go and often have great intensity - today I was craving meat - chicken, steak, fish - especially salmon.
