Day 4 - A Challenge of the Mind

Another trip to grocery store to replenish organics supply. Wow you do go quickly through alot of produce. This time I decided to get what seemed appealing to me: pineapple, orange, pear, apple, beets, cucumber, celery. Having extreme increase in sense of smell. While at the grocery store - everything and everyone had a strong smell. It's interesting how people carry odor of products they use: ie. hairspray, soap, deoderant, dryer sheets. Makes me wonder how this toxicity may affect their health?
The detox is in high gear - I'm noticing a pervasive dry mouth and a film that is coating my throat, mouth and teeth. A little unpleasant - so I've been brushing my teeth frequenty. Realized that the toothpaste I was using made me feel nauseous. Found Tom's natural toothpaste with fennel - excellent and provides great relief.
The fruit juice is great but starting to have a problem with the veggie juice. The smell of it makes me a little nauseous. But I can drink it no problem.
I had a few mild attackes of panic today - like - OMG I'm not eating! And I found myself tempted to grab something and just eat it. Just a survival instinct I'm sure - I just let this pass.
A little challenge in the evening - we had friends over for dinner. My first social situation trying to explain what and why I was doing this. They kind of looked at me like I was crazy - especially when dinner hit the table and I sat there with water and lemon juice!
After watching them eat dinner - I sort of felt not interested in juice - so I just had water and called it a night.
Today's Intake:
- Pineapple(great!)
- Beets, Celery, Carrot (ok)
- Celery, Carrot, Cucumber, Lemon juice (ok)
Today's Output:
- I am going to the bathroom #1 like every 1-2 hours, urine is clear, no odor
- #2 none
Today's Physical Outlook:
- Definetly noticing that my BMR is slower and body temp has lowered to conserve energy - I am wearing warmer clothes and keeping the heat on.
- I am starting to miss food and feel a little hungry - and by drinking water and through meditation it passed.
- I feel like my body is "consuming" stored reserves (probably of fat) from my abdomen. Pre-fast I had some mild belly and waist fat - and it feels like these areas are shrinking.
Today's Mental Outlook:
- The spiritual mind is happy and is compassionate as the physical body goes through this process.
- I am beginning to experience some mild anxiety about not eating.
- I'm starting to realize that the biggest challenge of this is going to be "mental" - the mind - versus the physical.
