Day 4 - getting easier
Getting through day 3 was a breeze, although I didn’t have as many MC drinks as I was supposed to - I just couldn’t stand the taste for some reason. This has happened before so I know it’ll pass.
Today (day 4) I’m off to a great start. Already made a pitcher of my lemonade and it’s ready to go, waiting for me in the fridge. And in a few mins I’ll finally tackle the SWF. I unfortunately haven’t bothered with it yet - I’m very sensitive to sodium because of previous kidney problems where it’s caused major swelling in my face (particularly around my eyes), wrists and ankles - so I’m a ... read more

Reflections on day 1 of the master cleanse
I’ve done several other fasts before and getting through day one was just excruciating - far more difficult than any other.
Sundays in our house is a big food day for me, in the sense that there’s always these little rituals we have associated with it. For instance, first thing on Sunday morning we get ourselves ready and walk to a nearby market (rated one of the 10 best in the world, so the food there is unbelievable) and stroll around with a coffee while picking up some goodies for the week. Day 1 - Somewhere to start 18 y
Dealing with my first day of the MC and the fears surrounding it.
It’s 11:20am on a lazy Sunday morning and it’s also my first day of 40 of my MC. I’ve already had one lemonade (slept in :) and I think a bit of fear is starting to creep in. Granted, the idea of being on a cleanse for 40 days - as an idea - is great. I mean, it’s pretty amazing (in my mind) to think that I have the ability somewhere inside me to just set aside everything and give food the finger and instead focus on cleansing and healing.
