Juice Fast Day 2 19 y
Is it abstinence from fats not food that causes weight loss during the juice fast?
Today I felt very different while working out at the gym. I noticed I was able to complete my cardio without any difficulty but I had problems completing my weight lifting sets. I felt really weak and wasn’t able to finish my reps eventhough I was using the same weights as I have been over the past week post fast. I’m not sure how to explain this, I’m sure it has to do with drinking the juices exclusively again but I’m not sure. If anyone has ideas please let me know.
I started reading a fasting book by Dr. Furman. I’m enjoying it very much. Its making me really consider trying a w ... read more
Juice Fast Day One 19 y
First day back on the fast was a breeze!
Day one was easy. For me being back on juices felt very familiar. It makes me wonder if this is forshadowing of things to come. I wonder if this juice fast will be easier the second time around or if the fast become easier in general with greater frequency.
So far I haven’t had any withdrawal symptoms other then hunger. Food smells really great too, even more so now that I’m not eating it again. visit the page
Second Juice Fast (21 days) 19 y
New Juice Fast Proposal
Well I’m back again. It’s been exactly 9 days post fast and all I’ve thought about is getting back on. In fact I feel like I need to do another cleanse.
I’ve gained about 5 lbs back already but I’ve been more active. I go to the gym daily and still attend all of the classes as well. I’m going to start posting here again especially for the first 4 days of the fast since those seem to be the hardest. From my first experience I remember once I got past the first 4 days I was on my way. I’m wondering if this juice fast experience will be any easier then the last one. My main goal is ... read more
Weight Loss Results 19 y
Pounds lost on the 3 week juice fast.
This last message will conclude my posts for this blog. I’m starting a new blog on my Raw food diet. I weighed myself a few days ago and I’m down to 156 lbs. I started at 175 so I’ve lost 19 lbs in total. During this time I was also doing yoga 2x/week, Rebok Step 1x/week and walking or cardio 3x/week. I believe this also helped with the weight loss and toxin elimation. I’m really pleased with the results and motivated to lose the last 10 lbs by switching over to a raw foods diet for 30 days. I’d also like to point out that the mental gains of this fast far outweigh the physical one ... read more

Day 21 19 y
I'm ending my juice fast today.
Day 20 19 y
Strange food craving....what's happening today??
Wow! Day 20! Time has quickly passed. I’m not sure what happened today but I woke up CRAVING food. I mean today was the first time in a while that I actually really wanted to cheat. EVERYTHING looked good to me. From Saltine crackers to chips to a dryed up bagel I saw open in the fridge at work. I was SO close to quitting and breaking the fast. I had to stop myself mid morning, get away from everything around me and pray to God for strength to make it, and he helped me because I didn’t cheat today.
Anyway, I’m not sure what was up with the sudden change of appetite and cravings. I ... read more
Eating Vegetarian After the Fast 19 y
Thinking of ways to change my diet after the fast.
I’ve been giving a lot of thought lately to modifications I’d like to make in my diet after the fast. I don’t want to go back to how I was eating before. Eventhough I’m a vegetarian and have been for a number of years, I still strayed off the path of healthy eating by consuming copious amounts of processed foods, sweets and dairy products. I want to ensure that when I start eating again after this fast that my new diet it will be full of healthy fruits, vegetebles and proteins and will omit sugars, fats, dairy, most processed foods and white flour products.

Progressing in spirit during the fast 19 y
Sooner, the fast becomes you....you just do it.
I just wanted to post a quick update. I haven’t posted in a few days but I’m still on track. Things have gone better then expected. I still find it hard to believe that I’m here, into my third week of the juice fast. It’s been quite a journey so far.
To anyone who is reading this and has just started their fast or is working through the first few days I encourage you to stick with it because it gets easier. You can do it. Eventually you get past the routine of meal times, you can deal with the cravings, you can feel deep hunger and engulf yourself in it and not be afraid of it or ... read more
Which day am I on? 19 y
Adapting to this fast.
It’s been a few days since I’ve posted on here. I’m still juice fasting but to be honest I’m losing track of the days. It’s facinating how this feels so normal to me now. What I mean by that is when I rewind a couple weeks ago, say around day 2 or 3 when all I thought about was food and not being able to eat it! It’s funny how quickly the mind adjust just as well as the body.
Things have been going well. Originally my fast was for 20 days but I’m feeling like I can go longer and I want to go longer. I’ve had incredible energy as of late. I’m able to wake up at 6 a.m. stay up all ... read more
Feeling Discouraged on Day 8 19 y
Emotional lows during the fast
Today I feel pretty down. I guess society has programmed us to expect quick results from our weight loss efforts. I feel like I should have progressed more in that department to date. Realistically I know that I’ve done well. I can see it myself but I’m still not happy with the results. I keep telling myself that the focus of this fast IS NOT weight loss, but it’s hard not to get caught up in subconscious expectations.
So to remedy this current state I’m going to do a lot of Bible reading and prayer and journalling today. I’ll post later if this helps me.
I’ve also been a little le ... read more
Day 7 19 y
Exercise is neccessary during the fast and makes you feel good too!
I woke today with a stomach ache. I took the senna tea last night but did not produce a BM until the afternoon, this after drinking two more cups in the morning. I was surprised at what came out, considering I haven’t eaten in seven days. Now I know I need to continue to use the tea. The mental fog that I had going yesterday lifted as well. I was tired in the evening and took a nap for about an hour. I woke and went to a step class at my gym. I was VERY surprised at how much energy I had! But more then that, I felt really light on the step so I was able to work harder! Actually, th ... read more
Day 6 19 y
Having a bad day on the fast
I’m not sure why but today I was incredibly tired. I feel like a 55 year old woman instead of a 25 year old....I’ve had this mental fog all day, I don’t have any engergy. I’ve just been ”getting by”. I haven’t had a BM in 3 days and I’m concerned that toxins may be building up. I’ve avoided doing a salt water flush or using sienna herbal tea for fear of becoming dehydrated. Anyway, tonight I chugged water prophylactically and drank the tea.
I had an emotional breakdown today to where I just cryed for about 30 mins. Could this also be the result of the toxins? or is something shiftin ... read more
Days 4 and 5 19 y
Experiences on Day 4 and 5
Day 4
Most symptoms gone with the exception of fatigue and some hunger so it did get better....
Its getting easier to deal with the notion of fasting. The first 3 days were very difficult. You CRAVE the ROUTINE you’ve always know surrounding food and mealtimes. Psychologically it’s been rough too. I’ve been thinking about a lot of people, my relationships with them, what they meant and how they have influenced my life and it’s outcome to date. I think I’ve been too hard on myself. I’m not the one to blame for a lot of my personality flaws. Yes, I do accept responsibility for who I ... read more
Summary of Days 1 - 3 19 y
Days 1-3. Brief Summary of some experiences.
I started my fast prior to finding this web site. I’ve been keeping a journal daily of the process, and I’d like to share it with you. Obviously there’s a lot to be omitted here for the sake of preserving anonymity. But I’ve included somethings that you may find interesting/helpful. Here’s a summary of what I’ve been experiencing thus far.
Day 1
Physically I feel cold. My hands and my feet are freezing. I’m not hungry though, I suspect this has to do with the large amount of food I consumed prior to this fast. I’ve been thinking a lot of about food though and just eating somethi ... read more
Why I started this fast, What I'm doing and Goals 19 y
My introduction. What started me on my journey and what I'll be doing.
Do you ever get the feeling like you are lost in your life. There are so many things that are going well for you externally, but emotionally there’s an inner turmoil that you can’t seem to resolve?
That’s where I was at, that why I’ve started this fast. Five years ago I was prescribed an SSRI for depression. I honestly don’t think I was clinically depressed at that point to the extent whereby I actually needed an Rx. But that MD’s for you, they don’t listen, or really care about what’s really going on with their patients, they just want to get them hooked on the pharmacutical compan ... read more
