Myself, I do not believe that people who do Meth know about all the harmful ingredients. I think most see it in it's rock form and do not realize what it is actually made of. This article tends to support that theory:
Reading through the list of ingredients that make up crystal meth seems more like the inventory of a toxic waste dump than something people would willingly put into their bodies. As you read through the list, it's difficult not to wonder who in their right mind would have tried putting all of these things together and then ingesting them into their body.
But meth users aren't in their right mind. The drug, which is quickly reaching epidemic proportions in the United States, causes people to have similar symptoms to that of schizophrenics. While it induces a false sense of euphoria for the new user, over time, meth destroys the body's ability to create feelings of happiness and well-being, leaving them in a perpetual state of dark depression, continuously trying anything to achieve some semblance of pleasure with even more meth.
Perhaps the fact that insanity is a result of meth use will help to explain how crystal meth has evolved to include this list of toxic and potentially deadly ingredients.
Matches
The red phosphorous contained in the heads of matches, combined with iodine, yields a highly controlled substance called Hydriodic Acid, an elemental ingredient in methamphetamines. There's a reason that Hydriodic Acid is a controlled substance. This acid, strong enough to corrode steel, causes congenital malformation in fetuses and burns to human skin. It's also extremely destructive the mucus membranes, the exact channel through which users get meth into their bodies.
Iodine
Iodine in and of itself is a harmful toxin when ingested in large amounts that can adversely affect the function of the thyroid. It takes nearly 4 bottles of iodine to produce 2 to 3 grams of methamphetamine.
Drano
You may have used Drano to corrode away hair and scum in your water pipes, but meth addicts use Drano as a way to get high. The warning on Drano's product label warning says it all:
DANGER: MAY BURN EYES AND SKIN ON CONTACT. HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. Avoid contact with body and clothing. TOXIC GAS MAY FORM IF MIXED WITH OTHER CHEMICALS. If gases are released, leave immediately and ventilate area. FIRST AID: Give Immediately: EYES AND SKIN: Flush with water for 20 minutes. Remove affected clothing. IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth and drink a glass of water or milk. Do not induce vomiting. THEN SEEK MEDICAL AID.
Brake Fluid
It's true; brake fluid will decompose the paint right off your car and eat through chrome. Sure it can ignite in a fireball if it comes into contact with other household chemicals. But all of this is a small price to pay in the mind of the meth user who willingly puts brake fluid into their body as part of the toxic methamphetamine cocktail.
Getting grossed out yet? We're not even halfway finished.
Ephedrine
You may have noticed that ephedrine based products like Sudaphed are now kept under lock and key at the pharmacy. That's because meth makers use boxes and boxes of ephedrine based cold medicine to cook meth. In addition to clearing the sinuses, ephedrine has the side effect of releasing dopamine in the brain, which evokes a pleasure sensation similar to that felt when eating food or having sex. While this may sound great in theory, excessively simulating the release of dopamine artificially will eventually cause a person to lose the ability to create sensations of pleasure naturally.
Lighter Fluid, Butane
Lighter fluid is used during the cooking of meth. Perhaps you're beginning to understand why meth labs so frequently burst into flames.
Hydrochloric acid
This highly corrosive acid is found naturally within the intestines as an ingredient in human digestive fluid. If spilled on skin, this acid will literally each away chunks of human flesh. In the industrial world, hydrochloric acid is used in leather processing and to remove iron-oxide and rust from steel. Meth users choose to purposefully ingest this corrosive acid into their bodies.
Sodium hydroxide
Most of the time sodium hydroxide is used in creating biodiesel or for aluminum etching. It's also used by city workers who are tasked with disposing of road kill. Douse the carcass with sodium hydroxide and the remains become little more than a coffee-like liquid.
Ether
This powerful and highly flammable gas is used as an anesthetic agent in third world countries. After inhaling ether, once called "sweet vitriol" for its hypnotic effects, patients can manage through complete surgical procedures without a care in the world.
Anhydrous Ammonia
The term "anhydrous" means without water. Because this powerful ammonia lacks water, it will seek it out wherever it can find it, eating through whatever is in its path including human flesh. This highly destructive substance is used industrially as a commercial refrigerant and in chemical fertilizer.
Different meth recipes call for different ingredients, all just as disgusting. Some other materials used in cooking meth are battery acid, paint thinner, gasoline, and kerosene. If you know someone who is into meth, do them favor and pass this article along. Users may only understand meth to be something that makes them feel uninhibited, satisfied, and sexually free. They may not know that the reason their body is reacting this way is because it is literally being poisoned and that meth will cause permanent symptoms of insanity with continued use.

Some Common Meth Ingredients:
Would you swallow a spoonful of drain cleaner? Does the thought of injecting brake fluid into your arm appeal to you? Care to top off your dessert with a bit of rat poison?
These are just a few of the common ingredients in Meth. One reason behind the explosive growth in Meth labs is the availability of the components. When users smoke, inject or drink Meth, this is what they are sending to their brain, cardiovascular system and throughout their bodies.
Lab equipment - including tubing, unmarked Mason jars with tubes attached, stained coffee filters, 2-liter pop bottles, blenders, camera batteries, wooden matches, propane cylinders and hot plates - are tip offs to the production of Meth.
Individually, each product is legal and useful. But when mixed together and processed, the results are deadly - to the producer, user and innocent bystanders.
(Forgive me if I make a few mistakes on this post. I'm new to this forum/page)
I wanted to know, if all of these chemicals are essentially eating or corroding the insides or depleting the insides. How does a chemically dependent person on meth become holistically normal again?
Or at least stop the deep depression, the feelings of being imbalanced that can only be fixed by another hit, etc?
Hey, where was that pic taken, reminds me of haystack rock.
Well, gosh, i'm not really certain how to break physical or physiological addictions. I know with cigarettes, you can take 500mg vitamin B-5 and 500mg or so of phosphatidyl choline and it will form the same acetylcholine in the brain that nicotene does, which is what provides the calming and focusing effect.
My best advice is follow the paleolithic diet as much as possible and get as many vitamins/nutrients that you can by blending fruits and blending vegetables. When the body craves something, it is lacking nutrition. Stay away from soy and chemicals like msg (the exitotoxins). Eat organic food as much as possible and prepare your own food as much as possible. Avoid milk and milk products. Get sun 3 times a week or take Carlson's cod liver oil. Avoid food in certain plastic containers/wrap. Use a good oil like red palm or coconut. Olive oil is good, but not to cook in. Make sure you do not have any mercury fillings, root canals or cavitations; They can cause addiction and depression. Below is some inof on some things. Make sure you are getting enough B-12 in your diet and have blood level of iodine checked. It would be good to get a full metabolic blood panel done, because thyroid or blood sugar can affect cravings. Have your creatine and uric acid levels tested as well, and have them test all your hormones. Blood tests are a good place to start so you know if you have any deficiencies or any physiological ailment you need to deal with.
Hey Torrie, You're right it is the pic address for haystack rock.
Are you the same girl as "Lisa Nova" in the YouTub videos? They were hilarious! I'm interested in the subject matter for a couple of reasons. One, of course, is for myself and all of the recent statements about pharmaceutical medications, but this is not only just for me. It is about a Crystal Meth user. I've seen the horrors first had, and ...... I've never seen a sadder state of affairs.
The suggestions you've mentioned do look like they would start to work in the right direction for this particular meth user I am speaking about. When I start to think about it, I get scared. Maybe there is no cure for all of the damage that has taken place internally from all of these harsh chemicals used to concoct this crystal meth. This is some serious shit. Everybody has a tendency to treat is like it is the same old, same old. The original version was from Japan in WWII. Hitler took it for his troops so that they could stay up all night, march and fight longer, but this is not the same recipe - He would not try to intentionally kill his army. not like the gunk out on the streets. This is some kind/form of genocide. Where all innocence has been taken away.
Thats all for now. I'll talk to you later. Thank you.
yeah, i have a friend in Oregon who has used meth for quite a few years and it is very sad. the thing with drug addicts is to avoid chemicals as much as possible and they are in our food and environment, so it is had. one thing about addicts they can become addicted to anything because of their addictive personalities. that is why you see some who have gotten 100% into religion or 100% into exercise, or whatever. they require something to replace their addiction to a drug, but hopefully it is a healthy alternative. one very strange thing i have noticed about drug addicts is rarely do they like alcohol. most of them do not drink. i sort of think it is because the hangovers are bad and if you start drinking again, you generally feel worse, whereas if you come off a drug, you can take more and feel better.
yeah, the ingedients in meth, i just don't think many are aware of. the finished product certainly doesn't look harmful. yeah, it destroys brain cells. My best guess on recovering is a good diet and taking nutrients and/or drugs that correct a choline imbalance/depletion. the problem with using drugs is the abuser often goes back to street drugs because they do not differentiate between those and pharamceutical drugs. frankly, sometimes the phramaceutical drugs are not good for them either; that is especially true when it is psychotropic drugs, which have no place in medicine or anywhere.
The researchers measured levels of N-acetyl-aspartate (NAA), a metabolite produced only in neurons. "NAA levels are a measure of the viability and density of neurons," Dr. Ernst says. "Many diseases associated with brain cell loss or damage, such as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, and epilepsy, are also associated with reduced NAA."
The scientists also measured levels of two other chemical markers-choline-containing compounds and myo-inositol (MI)-associated mostly with specialized cells called glial cells. "The primary role of glial cells is to maintain normal function of neurons, including repair of injury to the cells. Increases in glial markers suggest proliferation of these support cells in response to neuronal damage," Dr. Ernst explains.
Among the methamphetamine abusers, NAA levels were reduced by 5 percent in the frontal white matter and 6 percent in the basal ganglia compared with levels among nonusers. "The reduced concentrations of NAA in the drug users' brains suggest that long-term methamphetamine abuse results in loss of or damage to neurons," Dr. Ernst says. Methamphetamine abusers also showed increases of 11 percent in levels of MI and 13 percent in levels of choline-containing compounds in the frontal gray matter compared with nonusers. "This suggests an increased number or size of glial cells as a reaction to the injurious effects of the drug," he adds.
"Methamphetamine may be substantially toxic to the cells we use in thinking," Dr. Ernst says. "This long-term, and perhaps permanent, alteration in basic brain chemistry is additional evidence that methamphetamine abuse, like abuse of other drugs, should be considered a brain disease and treated accordingly."
You are very knowledgeable. I'm glad I came upon this website today. It was all very happen-stance, starting with my own prescription medication. I've been noticing I can't take it. It is causing really bad side effects. It is weird how it all criss crosses. I was wondering about a pain medication for my leg. "PROPOXYPHEN 100mg & ACETAMINOPHEN 650mg. I had a really bad twist and fall in 12/04. 12/06 I had surgery on my left knew. I also take Lamictal and generic Xanax for depression and anxiety. I don't know why, but it seems like six months to a year I start having problems with my psych meds. I don't know if it is a drug interaction, I don't know if I'm more sensitive to drugs during the heat, what? The Propoxyphen,Acetaminophen is the only thing working on both my leg/hip pain and my nerves/stress. I thought it was a little strange. I began to think I must be allergic and there must be some kind of drug interaction. It is like the psych meds are causing more pain in my legs, joints and arthritis. The pain medication with the narcotic (prescription pain medication) began to make me realize that there is a brain(mind), body connection. Some how, when you turn off my mind or block it, the joints, muscles everything starts to get better, even my very real stress, etc. But narcotics in the prescription medication is not the way to go, but it made me realize a very important component, and this component can be obtained through holistic medication and not the pharmaceuticals. Curezone is a wealth of information.
So just like with my leg. I'm looking for alternative medications not to just stop the pain but to heal. I'm also paying very close attention to interactions, whether natural or prescription. I think with natural holistic approach I will have a much better chance at alleviating both of my problems.
Thank you very much for taking the time to go through this with me. I will try very hard to help my friend. At some point they will be going into the hospital. He has a host of friends that are into this stuff in both of the "bad" ways. So they have a very $$ vested interest in keeping this going and in denying that there is a problem, that I am the only real problem. They don't care what this does to people or to the people of this society.
I am very grateful for you assistance and moral support. Thank you very much.
well, don't know that i have been much help. the drugs you are on are quite a chemical soup. i don't think it is possible to live a normal life on all those medications. for pain, try 1000mg of B-5 like 4 times a day or so, whenever you need it. it is safe in high doses (it works even better with phosphatidyl choline). i take drugs, but i take only smart drugs. other drugs are just too harmful on the body. but, i know from being in pain for years due to mercury fillings, that you have to take something sometimes. luckily i only have to take B-5 now.
Let me tell you what I have been told about B vitamins from my boss and co-workers. They love to get on my case. Well, my boss said that you cannot take too much B vitamins because it can be toxic. Actually both my co-worker and boss told me that. My co-worker also told me to be careful of those energy drinks with a lot of B vitamins and other stuff I can't remember but when I looked them up they were good. I haven't looked into any other investigations on B vitamins. Maybe I'll do a little bit of research and impart my knowledge onto my fellow co-workers.
I also have a lot of mercury fillings. Now that I know that it causese depression. - I'm going to be looking into replacing them with the other white poxy stuff. That would be quite a financial undertaking and a whole new way of thinking.
B vitamins are actually the least toxic of the vitamins. They are water soluable and leave yoru body in 2 to 3 hours, thus they do not build up toxicity. B5 is one of the safest and you can take high amounts.
Yes, mercury causes depression. You can get them out much cheaper in Mexico. That is where a lot of people go.
I'm from Southern California and you cannot get any real information on meth and its damaging effects - you get some generic without any details very invalid information.
I have to go out the state to get any real information, like Texas, Oregon and South Dakota. Don't you think that being from Southern Cal that I would have access to the most up to date information. No!
I'm in the process of communicating with one of my local councilman and I am expressing my anger and upset. He has been very receptive.
Some how I think it has to do with the Mexican boarder and the Mexican Cartel. I think there is some kind of cover-up. These are ruthless people who would murder without a moments hesitation. I'd like to put them out. I'd like to form it as a terrorist attack on this country and on its people. They have already suggested on Frontline on the segment on "The Bitter Pill". It showed just recently. It is a nationwide show, so you will be able to find it in your local listing.
Well, bye for now. I'll talk to you later. Thanks!
