Iodine supplementation from potassium Iodide or even the Iodoral referenced in the iodinine post seems a better way to go. Iodoral comes in relatively high doses and for that reason, I started my supplementation with just potassium Iodide from Pure Encapsulations and kept the dosage in the micrograms rather jumping on the bandwagon to do the higher milligram doses suggested by those promoting Iodine such as Drs. Brownstein, Abraham and Flechas.
In another interview, another doctor also promoting Iodine feels that most everyone is deficient due to the directive to avoid sodium chloride (table salt) which is the principal source of Iodine in most diets as well as the addition of bromide to all flour products. The bromide competes with iodine. He feels testing isn't necessary and just starts most of his patients on 10 mg. potassium iodide.
