David and Goliath
Despite many successful non-surgical treatments developed by biochemists unconnected with the eye profession over the last 100 years, they have been deliberately forgotten. This has made it possible for the eye profession to treat all these discoveries merely as objects of academic interest, to brainwash the world that cataract surgery is the only effective treatment for cataract, and to make people believe that their natural lens is not worth saving. But in this Forum, there are people who don't believe this cruel lie. They know their natural lens is worth saving, and won't accept the inhumane idea that cataract surgery should be the only option available to the world population.
Still, it is very difficult for us to fight back. We are fighting a profession which, although entrusted by the world with the mission of saving human sight, is bent on the destruction of a critical part of the human eye - the natural lens - and its replacement by an inferior plastic copy. It is moreover a profession which considers that every human being must eventually succumb to that destruction. And unlike them, we have no resources to implement the breakthroughs achieved by biochemists in the past which would have enabled us to save the natural lens.
This is analogous to the story of David and Goliath in the Bible. David is cataract patients the world over, and Goliath is the eye profession - just as big, and just as powerful. Goliath wants to cut on David's eyes, or else let David go blind. David is weak and powerless. Now, David needs the 'stone' (anti-cataract eyedrops) developed by biochemists to throw at Goliath, so that David can defeat Goliath, and regain his sight.
