The mud, my base, is Roman Catholic christianity.
The Blooming Lotus is buddhism.
The Energy that is in and around the plant and penetrating all that is on Earth is the Holy Spirit of the Lord and Lady together.
That is where I am in my spiritual gap year. I am not likely to return to being practicing RCC BUT I love Pope Francis either way. Also, out of respect for my husband, I stay a member. Maybe one of these days I will go to weekday mass.

The Lord and Lady loves to give confirmation. A day after I prayed for wisdom to be a channel and a medium for God’s love to sick people, I went to visit a resident dying in the hospital. I felt it was a good opportunity to exercise my psychic muscles and find out where my talents are.

consistent meditation works!
I’ve made a 20 minute meditation and ritual part of my pre-work routine. Somehow the message that if I make time for the Lord and Lady in my life, they will make time for me came through. I have a special appreciation for St. Martin de Porres to give me a compassion for my present time work as a nurse in an old folks’ home. What I resist, persists and I’ve been resisting the idea of continuing to work in a sometimes hostile work environment.

Friends go to Boxmart (Walmart) and you’ll see that the garden section is gone and in its place CHRISTMAS decorations even before Halloween. I am sure that’s what the Jewish Jesus intended, for capitalist Christians to buy cheap Santas from atheist communist China.
I look at Halloween and think of honoring my dead family, the Halloween of my ancestors (the European half) was about harvest. The end of 2012 was an epic end of the year for me as I entered an emotional stormy existential crisis after watching The Pianist. I was back in college as an ”adult learner” which twentysomethings who didn’t know who Adolf Eichmann was. Of all the classes I had, my world war two history class was the BEST class of all. It was taught by Dr. Thomas and offered a POV that was different and learned about things like the Bombing of Dresden. Still trying to figure out life. I’m a little disgruntled right now but I still go to Sunday mass because that’s how irresistible Jesus is. I’ll admit through this whole journey I’m still intimidated by being alone with my thoughts. I still use food to soothe any anxiety and gained ten pounds this winter (that wasn’t!).

I read it, rewrite it on a paper and record it on my iphone’s voice recorder. Why? Portable knowledge. Still God's friend...I think!
Went to mass yesterday to honor the Assumption of Our Lady. Never know when the attacks will happen but last night I just became overwhelmed with the dirty condition of my kitchen. I’ve seen this pattern before. I go to mass and have a real heart-to-heart talk telling the Lord exactly how I feel then later I have a bout of depression and my husband and I have a disagreement.
