I totally agree; Eytonsearth site is GREAT! n/t
by MidlothianGirl 21 y
It is important that you use USP grade bentonite for internal use...NOT the powdered green clay. The bentonite needs to be in liquid form...either purchased as liquid bentonite or hydrated yourself from the powdered form. Below are several links regarding the safety and efficacy of using bentonite for a variety of health problems...both internal and external. The Eyton’s Earth site is particularly informative and is independent of any particular brand of bentonite...they sell no products and are a very reliable source of information.

This is a great page on bentonite clays:
http://www.helladelicious.com/diy/2011/04/detox-radiation-more-with-bentonite-clay/
And this is relevant to the thread:
With increasing public knowledge about minerals, some have expressed concern over the presence of small amounts of aluminum in bentonite clay. However, Rich Anderson himself, and numerous others who have used Bentonite clay extensively with his cleanse program, have had hair analyses done which indicated that the body does not absorb aluminum from Bentonite. -Source Hydrated Bentonite Clay: A Priceless Gift from Mother Nature

How to make Bentonite-Shakes with powdered Bentonite?

Hello everyone,
I have Bentonite Powder, which I would like to use for Bentonite and Psyllium-Shakes.
My question is, how would you make those shakes from Bentonite Powder?
From what I’ve read on
http://www.eytonsearth.org/preparing-powdered-clay.php
it looks like there are 2 options:
1)Just put 1 Tbs of Bentonite and 1 tsp to 1 Tbs of Psyllium husks into a glass and mix them
2)Hydrate the Bentonite powder, before use. Hydrated Bentonite is supposed to be more efficient than just Bentonite mixed in a glass. I did read the section on www.eytonsearth.org about hydration, ho ...

The first Bentonite I bought for internal use was Bentonite Magma (’sounds almost exactly like what you have).
And I used the majority of that bottle for detoxing produce.
The formula for Bentonite Magma is found in most pharmacy texts. The pharmaceutical formula/instructions are as follows:
»Prepare Bentonite Magma as follows:
Bentonite 50g
Purified Water,a sufficient quantity,
to make 1000g
Sprinkle the Bentonite,in portions, upon 800g of hot purified water, allowing each portion to become thoroughly wetted without stirring.Allow it to stand with occasional stirring for ...

by moreless 17 y
Hi Ya’ll,
When one talks about bentonite clay, which kind is one talking about?
What do you mean which kind?
Oh? So you didn’t know there were Different kinds?
There are a few types of bentonites and their names depend on the dominant elements, such as K, Na, Ca, and Al.
This would mean:
Potassium bentonite for the K !
Sodium bentonite for the Na ! Sodium bentonite expands when wet and may absorb many times its dry mass in water. It is often used in drilling mud for oil and gas wells and for geotechnical and environmental investigations to seal off the drill hole.

Just to let you know, Andreas did not say that Psyllium was the thing that was sticking up in peoples intestines, but specifically Psyllium with Bentonite. HH contains no
Bentonite and being a sticky clay, Bentonite would most likely be the culprit. However, I passed mucoid placque and a short rope before ever using either bentonite or psyllium. So while I do agree that overuse of bentonite could possibly form an intestinal mass, I can’t agree that all ropes and mucoids consist of these two things.

Re: Bentonite Absorbing all nutrients ?

Bentonite does not really absorb, it adsorbs, or attracts things to it where they cling to the clay and are passed through the intestines without being absorbed. Nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream through the villi in the small intestine for the most part. (although some absorption takes place throughout the digestive system including the mouth).
Bentonite supposedly attracts things with a negative charge and these things cling like magnets to the clay. According to one source I read, many nutrients have the same charge as bentonite and they repel each other. I don’t know if th ...

Sodium bentonite vs calcium bentonite

Sodium bentonite expands up to 15 times its volume when mixed with water. Calcium bentonite does not. Sodium bentonite is used by well drillers and stock pond construction folks because it will expand and create an impenetrable barrier.
You can put a tsp. of the unknown bentonite clay powder in water and add 5 tablespoons of water (that’s 15 teaspoons of water giving you a 1:15 ratio) and leave it for a couple of hours and see what it does. If it only doubles its volume you have calcium bentonite and if it expands 10-15 times it is sodium bentonite.
I would not used sodium bentonite ...

Bentonite clay adsorbs toxins (just like activated charcoal)...so both will lower the level of Valium in your bloodstream slightly.
1 teaspoon of IF#2 = 3/17th of a teaspoon of bentonite/charcoal mixed

What type of brand bentonite was that again? I found one on the net from yerba. I was planning on taking bentonite and am great it worked for you. By the way, I am pretty sure that bentonite can be taken externally which will help flush the toxins out of your system. Bentonite is great to add to any cleansing/fasting diet as it works as a medium to expel the toxins.

Hi Vulcanel,
I believe you may find more of your answer to this Bentonite idea and it’s ability to help Alkalize the Bowel by understanding what Bentonite is made of, or may we say may contain !
For most Bentonite is also known as Sodium Bentonite, which means that it has plenty of Sodium in it, which may be what gives it it’s absorbing qualities and also may Help to Alkalize in the gut !
So, one may see, it is not really a Mystery at all !
Smile Tis your choice.

Hi Hopinso!
It makes sense to tackle the bentonite on a large scale....as I’ve heard it’s not the easiest to deal with.
Apparently it works well to get a bowl and a whisk and make a paste with a small amount of bentonite and water...keep adding water and bentonite until you get a consistency of thin yogurt or soymilk maybe.
Then she can use 1 tbsp of that liquid bentonite for each of her p&b shakes.
Hope that helps!

Re: WHEN to stop P&B cleansing????
by jhan 21 y
Psyllium being a natural fiber, it is not likely to affect the mucus line. Bentonite, I am not that sure. To be on the safe side, when you stop seeing mucoid plaque in the toilet, you might want to carry on with psyllium alone, without the Bentonite. As long as you see mucoid plaque you want to carry on with the bentonite though, this plaque is full of toxins and without the bentonite, they will be reassimilated in the blood stream.

Re: Considering detox am confused about sodium bentonite ...
by Able90 12 y
Supposedly, the bentonite that the Great Plains company manufacturers contains what is considered the ”optimum ratio” of sodium ions to calcium ions. This should give it the ability to ”swell” which means that it’ll adsorb the toxins more efficiently. Any quality sodium bentonite should work well.
The biggest problem is that any type of bentonite can cause constipation, and if this happens to someone using bentonite, they should stop taking it immediately.
Considering your problems, I would think twice before using any type of cleansing substance.

Powdered bentonite does not work unless it is hydrated. To hydrate powdered bentonite take a portion and add about two times as much water, shake well every few hours and wait at least 24 hours before using. To use the re-hydrated bentonite orally, mix 1-3 teaspoons with additional water. Remember bentonite is a clay and is in a colloidal suspension. It is really not dissolved in water, but when it is properly hydrated it does not rapidly fall out of suspension. Never attempt to use powdered bentonite as is. It’s simply psyllium and bentonite, the psyllium is fiber, it works like a broom to ”sweep” out your colon, and the bentonite is a clay that adsorbs (draws) and absorbs toxins, the idea is to use the bentonite to draw the toxins from your colon and the psyllium fiber keeps it moving so you can eliminate it.
