Re: Why do P&B shakes make me itchy and symptomatic?

Bentonite clay adsorbs toxins (just like activated charcoal)...so both will lower the level of Valium in your bloodstream slightly.

1 teaspoon of IF#2 = 3/17th of a teaspoon of bentonite/charcoal mixed

1 teaspoon of Bentonite = the full teaspoon of Bentonite (going to adsorb 5-6x the amount of toxins as a teaspoon of IF#2).

I'm not sure how 'specific' your reference is to "a year and a half ago" (18 months exactly? thereabouts?), but your posting history shows that 13/14 months ago you were clearly "in the deep weeds" with the Xanax tolerance issues.

If you hadn't reached 'tolerance' yet, then the bentonite/psyllium wouldn't have been an issue then.

Also to note - with the ileocecal valve issue, I'd be EXTREMELY CAREFUL with Bentonite or P&B (personally, I wouldn't risk it - but your choices are yours :)

Bentonite can be very (!) 'clogging' and can stick to the walls of the colon...and the last thing you want/need is ANY kind of a clog (or something 'gumming up the works' of the valve). IF#2 is so much better (for so many different reasons).

Blessings,

Uny
