Do you have any advice on how to help with toxemia. I seem to have a inflamed pancreas without elevated enzymes. The problems started after I breastfed 2 babies then my gallbladder got inflamed they removed that a couple years ago. Then I believe I got a mineral deficiency from not eating well & eating lots junk food & pop on top of the breatsfeeding now I have candida. It is a compensation for ignorance, an effort to appear scientific when there is no science. ~ yes!! *excellent article* After all my years of studying health and healing and the many different bodily systems and even ’diseases’, this make me feel I can throw away most of my binders full of notes. Hello Ladylove, I would love it if you lived in my town or nearby! I would trade with you! My husband raises Texas Longhorns, but we keep Watusis around for eating. I also have dairy goats, sheep, and chickens. I use to have ducks, turkeys, and rabbits, but no more. I have a large vegetable garden, an herb garden, and a fruit orchard.I am into edible landscaping. It is a work in progress. I am redoing my raised beds and milking room this fall. Except I may wind up with a few chix or guineas for eggs etc. A ranch, how cool :). You’re brave :). What kind of ranch is it, if you don’t mind my asking? Meat/eggs/dairy I’ll probably have to buy/barter, until I’ve got the veg/herb part working.. Got rid of all the debt. Looking for land now upon which to live self-sufficiently. Particularly upon which I can grow most if not all my own food, and trade for the rest.. We have started growing vegetables this spring - the tomatoes last year didnt go very well. Also we are connecting a little pipe to the gutter and are collecting rain water so that we wont be using fresh water for watering the garden during the summer month. It feels good doing things without using other resources. In my culture it is not so common to buy things on credit anyway so I am used to the life style of ”if you havent got the money for it now you cant buy it”. I sleep on a converted water bed (a regular mattress where the water should be). It is low to the ground, and no springs. I used to use a mattress on the floor, but I like this better. It has a bookcase at the head where I keep good things to read before going to sleep.   [End]

Congratulations on your great discovery! 3 years ago, I got fed up with my life, dumped all of my worldly belongings and moved 2,000 miles. I slept on the floor until I saved enough to buy a bed (4 months). It was the best time of my life, best sleep, best back health. I sleep on a platform bed (lots of guys I dated thought I was squatting in my own apartment ha!) and I love it! I prefer a futon mattress on the floor, but some are a little disagreeable about it. I had a fun time yesterday revitalizing an old, dried-out looking hope chest in our bedroom... I rubbed down the top with coconut oil!! Ha! Take THAT, Pledge!! It looks beautiful and happy in the morning sunshine. Okay, that’s probably a use not too many other people have thought of. Also it’s a good way to use up refined CO you maybe bought before you knew the difference between refined and VCO. This topic is for sharing the unusual uses you’ve found for this wonderful stuff... anyone else out there gone coconut oil crazy?? Share, share! I bet you could moisturize ...

That’s cool. I like the Japanese ”look”, it is very beautiful in its simplicity. I also like the idea of sleeping on something metal-free and close to the floor. Lately I have been sleeping on a mattress on the floor (in another room) so that I can have the window open. I am really enjoying that... I would like to have a table low to the floor so that I could eat while sitting cross-legged on the floor, I believe this is Japanese, as well.   [End]

1. sleeping on the ground is good for your back- or near the ground on a flatter surface 2. And this is the part that had me inspired by you- getting closer to the earth is really the key to our coming back to some sort of cultural sanity- of human sanity- forget the cultural aspect Walking barefoot on the beach, or going to the mountains and hiking until you find the spot where the light filters through the trees branches at such an angle that your heart begins to expand and the soul of your existence begins to pray without words That’s the kind of thing that sustains the ones in the ...

Ah, it is not that big of a deal really. But, thanks. It would be somewhat different if I had a family, I am sure. But for now, I am thinking somewhere between how the American Indians and the Japanese sleep is the way to go for me. From now on, I want to only have the minimum amount of furniture. There is a freedom in that for me. I use to collect a lot. I am forcing myself to stop it. I want to live closer to the earth.   [End]

I gave away my bed recently and now I sleep on the floor. I do have foam rubber pillows and a bedroll. Surprisingly,I like it much better. I have ideas about another bed that I may make soon. I read that sleeping on metal wire is not good for our bioelectrical system. It seems to help me not to sleep on a regular bed.   [End]

Thats a loooong word for me now. Sometimes the mother bird kicks her young out of the nest due to pressure. Every ten minutes each baby bird needs to be fed. the mother bird searches day in and day out through the humid and scorching summer day to keep her babies alive. My sons brought in two baby birds. to our suprise, we found three more laying on the thick grass right below the bird nest above the fence. Sometimes we get overwhelmed but it just takes a few lessons from those around us to see what blessings we have and may not be aware of. ( news, storms, wars etc ) So I gen ...

As I understand ’voluntary simplicity’, from reading ’the Aquarian Conspiracy” several years ago, you simplify your life as far as possible, and concentrate on some things that are important to you. For example, you may feel you can’t live without music, so you have a really good sound system. Or, as you mention, you keep your computer. The rest of your life you simplify and cut down on unneccessary consumption - cook all your own food, compost food wastes, use public transport, recycle etc. To give up on the really useful technology would be crazy. Ali, Life would be so much simpler BUT because of the internet I have learned so much. I cannot immagine living without it now or my cell phone..LOL I don’t care much for the TV really. In trying to achieve voluntary simplicity, wouldn’t one of the first things to go be the computer?  I often dream about how awesome it would be to get off the grid and live a totally self sustaining lifestyle, and I can read by candlelight and boil water for my green tea on a wood stove just fine, thank you.  But....could I really live without the internet!?!  Can I go for any length of time anymore without Google and Curezone..........?   [End]
