enzymes are the body's catalysts.

Go over your grandfather's house, and in his backyard put a mole of benzene and a mole of liquid bromine in a flask. MIxed together, they do nothing. Zip. Nada. Then, take a nail and run it on a file, collecting the filings, and dump a gram or two of the iron into the flask. whoooosh. Hydrogen bromide gas and monobromobenzene. When it's all over, you even get your iron back, unchanged. That's what a catalyst is.
Had one added fluoride, then iron fluoride would have been formed, which would not enable the bromine and benzene to react. The catalyst would have been poisoned.

Stuff has to happen in the body, or else you die, like, getting glucose to the brain & normal detoxifications. Reaction rates are based on catalysis, but also on temperature according to the Arrhenius equation, and also to the Nernst equation which includes an activity coefficient. Bottom line is, that when the body's catalysts become progressively poisoned with fluoride, the body tries to compensate for the loss of reaction rates by adjusting its temperature AND............. pH.

It will make itself acidic, if its catalysts are poisoned. Tell that to Morales.
