Re: I'm going to grow Wheatgrass Outdoors - help?

Well once again thanks for replying. It doesn't actually sound difficult to sprout the wheatgrass, I have experience with sprouting so that's ok.

I can't grow it in the soil as the area is paved over like you said, so I'm going to have to go with the deep pots. The only problem is once I've cut the grass down for juicing what do i do with the rooting system?

Could I just put it in with his garden soil, or would this cause wheatgrass to grow in with his bedding plants and shrubs etc, don't really want that to happen? Or will the rooting system just rot (compost) into his ground/soil (without sprouting/regrowing again)?

The birds won't be a problem, I'll put netting over the growing boxes (will set it up so the birds don't get trapped in it) till the rooting system is established.

Just out of interest, how difficult is it to set up a composting system, do you have a composting system and would you recommend one, do they take up much room, are they a hassle to keep on top of?

Thanks for you time.

Dave
