Re: How I Quit
I smoked for about 40 years. Never was able to quit for more than a couple months, and usually had strong cravings . . . except when I was on a very pure diet with no sugar, starchy foods or salty foods. Everytime, I'd get to a point where I thought I had control, and would be around smokers, get the urge, and have "just one". Always, within a few weeks of having that one, I was back to fulltime smoking within a few weeks.
For the last two years I've been struggling to quit, as I'm in my 50s, and the smoking was really draining my energy and health, and I was most depressed about it. Last Christmas, I went to Scottsdale, Ariz. to be with family, and I'd read about a homeopathic doctor there. I went to him just for general purposes, not to quit smoking, and he told me that homeopathy doesn't work if yr smoking and drinking coffee. I told him I was struggling with quitting, but couldn't manage it yet.
He sent me to an energy balancer, a man who claimed to wash my aura. I didn't really know what to think of that, but I went. That was Dec. 26, 2003. I haven't smoked since that day. Not only have I not smoked, I've been around smokers and had very little desire. Yes, there've been moments when I really wanted to smoke, but they were fleeting, and I got through them much easier than before.
Still not sure what that was all about. All I know is I haven't smoked since then, and that I have very little desire to smoke.
