Re: I was diagnosed to have a Hiatal Hernia?
Hi,
Thanks for your comments.
I was pretty much given a list of foods I should avoid, and those that are OK. Like, avoid fatty foods, etc. I don't eat much of that anyway. He only listed 2 food items on things I can eat...the rest I researched from the internet and from people who have had something similar to what I have. But, basically fish or chicken, BAKED, it has to be baked, and whole wheat bread is fine. Come to think of it, I've never had the reflex to regurgitate after eating a slice of bread with jam.
My nephew is a chiropractor and he said that some do manipulate the valve. It's my body and I can FEEL sort of what's wrong. Usually when you eat, your food goes to your stomach where it is digested and eliminated. In my case, it seems that something between my esophagus and stomach (and I usually get the hiccups when I'm vomiting which releases alot of stuff, sorry). Once all the food is eliminated from the upper area of my digestive tract, I still don't feel that well, so I press my stomach or move from side to side and more of what I ate is eliminated. I won't feel really well until there's nothing left and only I can tell. Whether is tilting my head back, forward, leaning over to my right or left side, it seems to stimulate something to eject more. I've been by the toilet for an hour at a time.
Sometimes decaf coffee will trigger it, sometimes it won't. Anyway, I don't want to have an operation, so I'm just eating less and smaller portions. What I'm wondering also is why aren't I losing weight. I've barely eaten a thing for months, throwing up, but still am bloated.
I wish someone could explain to me what's going on.
Thanks. T.
